Depends what you are looking for. Photoshop you can really exagerate photos. Also depends what kind of work or school subjects you do.

If you're running Windows, I think most people would recommend security software to include virus protection, firewall protection, etc.

You may want something to organize your media if you have any of that (mp3s, pictures, videos and so on)

And maybe something like Google desktop to help you easily find things on your computer.

And IM software, if you're into that.

My opinion you should download Firefox Web Browser (http://www.mozilla.org/download.html). It is like Internet Explorer expect it is faster and you can customize it to make it look like what you want it to look like.

Protect your computer with this (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-virus/us/frt/0) and this (http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/).

Get this (http://www.openoffice.org/) for office/school work i.e. letters spreadsheets

Get this (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/) web browser.

Get this (http://www.getpaint.net/) or this (http://www.gimp.org/) for image editing. The latter is more powerful but more difficult to use.

Everything above is free!

Does this have intellisense for (x)html, css, and javascript? Also does it have built in validators for (x)html and css standards like strict and transitional?
