Suicide is prohibited for a good reason.

Often suicide is thought of as a way out, a way of escaping the pain of this life, if a person knew the torment on the other side, he would beg to return but it will have been too late.
Nothing on the other side for those who have commited an evil worthy of the fire is better than what we have now.

Although it may not seem like it, Allah is showing you mercy by letting you live until you prove yourself worthy enough to be of the people of paradise.

Use the time you have left to closen yourself to Allah, verily all good has come from Allah and all evil you have brought upon yourself.

Make dua, pray more to Allah, read about our beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and I can guarantee you, your situation will improve.

May Allah grant you patience.

Allah is Just and He would not burden you with something you cant handle so your not happy with your life that means your not content with what Allah has given you and a muslim should always say al hamdulillah

suicide is a wepon of the shaitan agaist us the Muslims, if you commit it you'll fail in your tests, I have suffered from sever depression in the past and its a hereditary thing so i've seen my family suffer also but my faith keeps me sane allhumdulilah,

If i feel like my pain is over whelming I know that Allah knows everything i feel and i cry my tears to my Lord, and beg for my pain to be lifted and Allhumdulilah my duas have been answered and I have some peace,

you will find peace to in remembering Allah and in making long sujud in your salah, our time here is short, make it count and dont try and cut it short, the reward is emence inshaallah

sister/brother. You think that you are running away from horrible events in this life and by ending your life you are ending all that? This life is something so small compared to the next one, and the next life is the one that you should be worried about. The punishment for ending your own life is that in the hereafter you will commit the same act of ending your life over and over again, so if you shot yourself you will continue to do that act over and over again. We aren't even allowed to pray at the funeral of a person who commits suicide. Akhi/ukhti I'm assuming you are a muslim and even if you are not turn to Allah (God) when you have these thoughts and feelings Allah is always there for you.

everyone has given u some really good advice, a brother i know went thru what you did a few years back.

he actually went thru with it and took a whole bunch of pills, when he woke up he said he couldnt see anything and he felt VERY VERY frightened and regretful because he thought he had died :(

he said he managed to find his way to the bathroom and just kept splashing water on his face and slowly he the effects of the pills wore off and he was ok but today he still thanks allah SWT for saving him from a VERY BIG mistake which could have cost him this world and the next :(

not all are saved from suicide attempts so please take heed of what allah swt has revealed to us and what everyone has told u here, problems are temporary and evrything has to pass, this is where sabr (patience) comes in , May Allah swt make things easy for u ameen.

I guarantee you, that if u rely on Allah swt to get u out of this he wont let u down

I used to get suicidal thoughts when i was depressed for a long long time. But didnt act on em. Coz its haram.

There are two reasons as to why a person would become suicidal. One would be because he is depressed, feels that life is hopeless and sees it as the only way out and the other is if there's a chemical imbalance in the body (such as a lack of serotonin) triggering these thoughts.

The former option would mean you're having some kind of crisis in your life and at least in the short term, it would probably help to spend some time away on holiday or on umrah with trusted friends or relatives. Time away from your current situation can give you a little perspective to help you clear your head. You'd also have to learn how to trust and reach out to people. Suicidal people generally feel very isolated and therefore don't have a proper outlet for their anger until they're in touch with friends who can listen and understand them. On top of that you should also learn to remember Allah (swt), read the Quran with the translation regularly. It would inshallah remind you that the life we have after death is everlasting and more enduring and what we do in this life (in terms of obey or disobey Allah swt) will determine whether we are blessed or punished severely in the next life and what we die upon is one of the biggest factors in this. To die upon a haraam action such as suicide would lead to the difficulties in this life seeming like a walk in the park compared to what you'd be letting yourself in for in the akhirah.

The latter would improve with regular exercise and checking with your GP as to whether you might need anti depressants, though these tend to only work temporarily so in the long term, you'd still need to put into practice what I mentioned in the previous paragraph.
