For a male the hair should not exceed the shoulder length - anything beyond that is imitation of women and impermissible
I read that men can have as long hair as they want, as long as the hair is all the same length (ex, no mullets)

I also heard this. There were men with long hair at the time of the Prophet :saw: and when they prostrated in prayer their hair had to prostrate too. please note: I'm not a scholar and I have never checked whether this hadeeth is sahih or not!!!

once again,plz remind em.
did u mean short back n sides?
if so,then al explain abit more inshAllaah.
Men are not allowed to cut the sides of his hair, all their hair must be the same length. If your hair is plated, then you must unplat it for wudu.
I say grow it! Some might even say: to cut it, is to disobey its nature.....
''All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.''- Numbers 6:5

But in all honesty, hair is just hair, do what you want.
And if you fear people calling you a woman, grow a long beard too, heh...
I'm doing both :coolbro:
And to further my argument, I say those who cut and style their hair are those in vanity, Vanity! Don't confuse vanity with ?cross-dressing? or even feminity; afterall.... arnt we taught to embrace duality?!!
Rather..The verses that imply the opinion:it's forbidden to grow your hair; which people will often prescribe to make you feel unlawful .... are perhaps allegory, forbidding homosexuality. Think about it ;)
I, question: who looks less masculine? : Bald Franciscan monks, or the Samurai with his hair tied in a chomage?
Long hair is noble and a testimony of patience in many countries, it embodies virtues....... and you've just gave yourself a #0 undercut?!! haha:confused:
Maintain.

I don't think shoulder length hair is a problem as long as you take care of it and keep it neat and tidy. The problem is cutting some and leaving some long. As far as I am aware, all the hair must be the naturally similar length without any crazy bald bits with long bits sticking out like:
