I read a hadith whereby the prophet saw performed the Raful ya Dayn.
Since reading this, I've started doing it since a few weeks ago.
Some relatives saw me pray like this and told others in my family that I'm a wahabi mashaAllah.
Is there a particular reason behind raful ya dayn? Because the hadith was translated in urdu, I'm unable to locate the english translation. I'd be interested to know one in english insha'Allah.
When I showed the arabic hadith, translated to urdu, although it was a section dedicated to prayer from saheeh / muslim, the critics suggested that wahabi's may have written it. So they're on a quest to find sahih Bukhari / Muslim books with hadith that they approve of.
Can anyone point to more information on this?
I feel this line of thinking is going to be a cause of debate in future discussions.
Eg. Some argue that the wahabi's say that the Prophet saw was a man audubillah, but he really is noor. I argued, but Allah swt says in the Qur'an that Muhammad saw was a man (insaan). They say
'yes, but we can not say the same'??? Don't know the logic in that. I asked for hadith / daleel, where the Prophet saw approved this belief that he saw was noor... still waiting.
I sense that their argument will be that the sources I read will be compiled by wahabi's, wheras I've never seen one daleel to support their line of belief. Simply their line is, we were told this by a pious person, are you denying that they did not know their stuff?
