i've not read anything which says that it can't be done, but i would not recommend it for reasons which are a little explicit.

As Salaamu Alaikum,
Interestingly this seems to be permissible; The ruling on shaving a man’s chest (http://www.islam-qa.com/index.php?ref=45557&ln=eng). And according to the Malaaki Madhab it is even a Sunnah.

Don't shave though, it'll make you all prickly afterwards.. wax ..it'll last longer and if you're lucky make the hair finer.. if you have lots of money, try laser

On the topic of hair... How much hair should be removed from the moustache when clipping? Anyone know?

Allaahu Alim, I use a No. 1 from the hair cutting machine. I would highly recommend the Islam-QA (www.islam-qa.com) website, it has a wealth of information.

Isn't it so the 'tache doesn't go in the mouth?

wa alaikum aslaam
im not sure about it being sinful or not but i would agree with CW that its better to wax or, if u want it permanently gone, get it lasered, within 3-6 treatments u will be sorted but if your married i would also recommend asking what she thinks about you doing this.

Why can't you google these type of questions people if you don't have access to the brothers section
Shedy
if your married adn you find it is permissable, why not ask your wifes opinion on the matter? (it could be a turn off either way)
and if you shave yes it will come back thicker.
waxing cuases hair re growth to be much finer after time but will cause irritation for up to 48 hours because blokes arent used to waxing i guess and be prepared for the pain factor.
This thread sooo belongs in the bros section :S

To extend on the body shaving (or better still waxing), apart from keeping oneself clean and hygienic as recommended by sunnah, is it OK to assume hair from other areas of the body can be removed (eg, back, s..., c....) ?
If the wife is willing, is it OK for her do this, it can be awkward to DIY.
