I was wondering if any of you have ever had any experience with this disorder. To be honest, I didn't know it existed, but I've researched on it, and I need some information, personal information on how to deal with this. I'm aware that it's known to disappear after a while, so it's more of a phase but in the time being, if medication and a shrink is not in question, if there's anything a person can do to get through it?
Often as I've found, this disorder carries on from other psychological disorders, such as manic depression.. etc. I've also found out that this usually happens after someone has faced a very big change in their life. However, as I'm not a psychiatrist, I'm basing all I've learnt on purely the research that I have done, is it possible to get this illness just over night?
Would you recommend medication as a way out of this box your mind has built around you? I've also found out that the depersonalization disorder can be resolved if the psychological disorder that caused the latter, was cured.
If medication cannot be sought, would there be another way out? Could this disorder escalate into something more?
If anyone has faced this problem before, if they could kindly list out their symptoms and treatments?
Thanks in advance. :)
It's amazing how little things can affect someone's life so much.
This information isn't for me. So as a person who's trying to help someone else through this, what advice would you give? Leaving them to it is just out of the question.
