I have a debate with my mates in buying the Satanic verse. My only regret will be I will add 10.88 pounds into his pocket. i wanna find out the fuss about the book.

Will it be Islamic to buy it? i need the ummah's openions

go to a library, borrow it from a person who owns it or get it used - thus no profit for the author.

however, depending on your intentions and why you want to read it might be a waste of time and then there should be books that are more beneficial.
