Salaam Alikum.

I'm looking to add more to my wardrobe for going to the masjid. I already have a throbe, but I want to add more stuff. What's a good site that sells Islamic clothing that's realitively inexpensive. Shukr has good variety, but it's kind of expensive.

Salam Brother

Yeah most of the stuff they got online are expensive and they do tend to rip people off. Why don't you akhee ask some bros from the mosque to take you to Islamic Clothing stores in Florida, I'm sure they have quite a few in your area?

Insha'Allah Ukthee Tahiyah might know some even shes from there.

Shukr is the best site, they are on sale now tho, see if u find anything affordable.

I'll go see if there any cheap stores online for u!

Nowhere :p

It doesn't exist :smack:

Eeither you buy the cloth and get it sewn on the cheap off some auntie jee.. or your fork out tonnes to an Islamic shop :D

I buy of shukr.co.uk 'cuz their stuff is very modern and funky  ..but they are soooo expensive :smack: ..but I don't mind so much because they pay their factory workers in Syria and decent wage, so Alhamdulillah.. least it's money well spent, fair trade and all that jazz.

There is no such thing as Islamic clothing. Any clothes that are loose and modest which cover your Awrah are Islamic.

What a big fat contradiction your post is.

Anyway, most Western style clothing is not very Islamic or suitable to wear outside in public.. if you think a t-shirt and jeans are modest they AREN'T, and please don't be bending over in public when you are wearing them.

You know full well the brother is referring to a thobe/jubbah etc.

I believe he means in Islaamic as in the Sunnaah of Rasoolullah saws, i.e what he (saws) wore.

What bro wolf meant was sunnah clothing.
AFAIK most people who wana get clothes for right price buy material and get them made because it is a lot cheaper. My sis makes her boys and her husband their thobes and it looks really nice even gives them a hood.

Yes, traditional clothing. I feel that if I wear more traditional clothing, it makes me feel more Muslim.

I might have to stick with Shukr. They have good variety and everything. I'll see if I can live with the prices. Is Shukr based in America? I don't really want stuff imported from other countries (more tax, shipping, etc.)

Thanks. I'm looking around, but there's lots of choices. I can't make the Massive Summer Sale with 60% off select items, but I'll see what I can do.

So far, I've come up with the following:
Contrast Pocket Stitching Shirt http://www.shukronline.com/mq4201.html

100% Cotton V-Neck Tunic http://www.shukronline.com/mq2101.html

100% Cotton Turkish Tunic http://www.shukronline.com/mq1401.html

Shami Galabiyya with matching Pants http://www.shukronline.com/g101p.html

100% Cotton Sakundi Thobe http://www.shukronline.com/mg1201.html

I won't get everything at once, but this is what I'm interested in. Good choice?

Wolfn wearing a thobe doesnt make you more or less of a Muslim than not wearing one. What's important is that you are like the Prophet in character, tolerance and piety.

If you will face financial hardship or difficulties in buying traditional Arabic clothing then stick to modest western clothing. You haven't joined the Borg nor is a Muslim a uniformed grade!

You became a Muslim to stop being a sheep, not to become one!

Have you got a problem with him wanting to wear Islamic clothing? Just because you don't wear Islamic clothing doesn't mean you have to discourage others from wearing them.

He's mentioned a few times how he finds the clothing expensive, so I was just pointing out that it's Arabic national dress and not Islamic clothing.

Just as any name with a good meaning that doesnt involve shirk can be an Islamic name, you dont have to rename yourself into an Arab!

This whole Islamic clothing concept has become a capitalist dream, people making thobe's for a pittance and selling them at nose bleed prices!

you dont seem to agree with Islamic teachings from the Quran and sahih sunnah at all. i have not seen one thing from you since you joined this forum where you support Islam, and the islamic way of life, you protest about anything to do with islam, even go as far as to mock and denounce the islamic teachings and way of life in every thread and at every opportunity, indeed you live up to your name, you are lone wolf.

I have to say I find the role of Arab culture in Islam very strange.
Reminds me of some guys I've known through martial arts who learnt Japanese, wore Japanese clothing, cooked japanese food, had Japanese furniture and decor, had Japanese wives/girlfriends, frequently visit Japan.
Admiration is good, but it's all a little odd...

its not "arabic clothing" its modest islamic clothing, men are also ordered to cover their private parts, and a shirt and western style trousers doesnt cut it, u can still see a mans shape from his navel to his knee. so wether he wears a thobe, ( a long shin length garment) or wether he wears a shalwar kameezze( very baggy loose fitting trousers, and long loose top to his knees) it doesnt matter as long as he covers himself properly, but trousers like western men wear are out.

as for women, they are told to draw their veils over themselves, and they are told in the hadith to make their jilbabs ( a floor length dress)reach the ground or longer so that the feet will not be seen, so clearly this is standard dress for a muslim woman, and its nothing to do with arabican culture, it is the dress of the muslim, if you look in old biblical books from the 1950`s you will see all the people in there dressed as muslims dressed from palestine to egypt and beyond. if you go into any catholic church you will see mary the mother of jesus dressed as a muslim woman with her hair covered, and wearing a long dress to the floor, this is the way of the muslims, and the muslims have existed since the time of prophet adam, our religion doesnt change with the fashion.
