I really see a problem with this. Sorry. In the old days Muslims would travel from Makkah to the Muslim lands on horseback to let the people know when is Hajj...which determines the day of
Eid-al-adha.
Now with all the modern forms of communication...telephones, the internet, etc...Muslims are getting it wrong.
Either it was today, or it's tomorrow.
Are those who are celebrating it today willing to tell the Hajjis on their return from the Holy Land that their Hajj is invalid?
Alhamdulillah I've seen some changes in my city over the past few years.
SubhanAllah today the masjid my husband attends had three Eid salats to accomodate the many bralvi's/Pakistanis who had chosen this time to celebrate on the correct day according to the Hajj.
But what does a Muslim do if the only Masjid in town is celebrating on the day after. My husbands cousin in Edinburgh couldn't perform Eid salat by himself, and is doing it tommorow. I guess if it is that fundamental I myself would travel out of town to pray Eid Salat....even if this means travelling for hours.
Sorry...just thoughts going around in my head.
