I am " fasting " after i read this..

Fasting on this day is an expiation for two years.

It was reported from Abu Qutaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafaah. He said, 'It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.' Narrated by Muslim.

This (fasting) is mustahabb for those who are not on Hajj. In the case of the one who is on Hajj, it is not Sunnah for him to fast on the Day of Arafaah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not fast on this day in Arafaah. It was narrated that he forbade fasting on the Day of Arafaah in Arafaah.

who else is fasting?

Bismillahir rahmanir rahim
Assalaamu Alaikum Wa rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu

Fasting is between u and Allah (swt). If u fasted mashaAllah ta'ala but u shudn't state so, it's sumthing between u and Allah and only He (swt) knows if ur fast will be accepted or not. If u didn't fast, s'alrite...don't state so in this thread though...just remember next year inshaAllah to fast on the Day of Arafat.

I didn't say u were bragging...alhamdullilah u posted it, but if it was me I wud have just posted that lil reminder instead of adding "i am fasting" and "who else is fasting?"...but yet again that's just me...

Narrated Abu Huraira

Allah's Apostle said, "Fasting is a shield (or a screen or a shelter). So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting." The Prophet added, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. (Allah says about the fasting person), 'He has left his food, drink and desires for My sake. The fast is for Me. So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times."(sahih al-bukhari)

anyhow, jazakhallahu khair for the reminder...:)
