In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind

Surah Rahman, the surah many of us know and love; with the extremely well know verse ; which of your Lords favours will you deny?

Before we begin, we should seek refuge in shaitaan the outcast and purify our intentions to be solely for Allah SWT.

3 ayaats will be posted everday. No other posts in here, just the 3 ayaats. The 3 ayaats will be posted, 3 ayaats in arabic, the english tranlisterated below and then once again, the english translated below that and, and the 3 ayaats broken up from 2 different qaris for you to follow [put this on your MP3 player and listen over and over]

And now a arabic word from each ayah will be highlighted in ahmar and the corresponding word in english highlighted in red aswell. This is for 2 reasons; to try to teach even a little bit of arabic and also, if you know the meaning of the keywords in the ayah, its easier to memorise the ayah.

Ibrahim Jibreen reccomended as this is one of his classic recitations as is the Salah Bukhatir and the Efaasy version being slower, good for tajweed. Most quraa recite this surah beautifully, so a lot of options here..

`Allamahu Al-Bayān
He taught him eloquent speech.

الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ

Ash-Shamsu Wa Al-Qamaru Biĥusbān
The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses calculated with measured out stages for each

وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ

Wa An-Najmu Wa Ash-Shajaru Yasjudān
And the stars and the trees both prostrate.

Wa As-Samā'a Rafa`ahā Wa Wađa`a Al-Mīzān
And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance.

أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ

'Allā Taţghaw Fī Al-Mīzān
In order that you may not transgress (due) balance.


وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ

Wa 'Aqīmū Al-Wazna Bil-Qisţi Wa Lā Tukhsirū Al-Mīzān
And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient.

Wa Al-'Arđa Wađa`ahā Lil'anāmi
And the earth He has put for the creatures.

فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ

Fīhā Fākihatun Wa An-Nakhlu Dhātu Al-'Akmāmi
Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks



وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ
Wa Al-Ĥabbu Dhū Al-`Aşfi Wa Ar-Rayĥānu
And also corn, with leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants.

Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ

Khalaqa Al-'Insāna Min Şalşālin Kālfakhkhār
He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery.


وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ

Wa Khalaqa Al-Jānna Min Mārijin Min Nār
And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire.

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ

Rabbu Al-Mashriqayni Wa Rabbu Al-Maghribayn
The Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter).

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

Maraja Al-Baĥrayni Yaltaqiyān
He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together.

بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ

Baynahumā Barzakhun Lā Yabghiyān
Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress

.فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ

Yas'aluhu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Kulla Yawmin Huwa Fī Sha'nin
Whosoever is in the heavens and on earth begs of Him (its needs from Him). Every day He has a matter to bring forth (such as giving honour to some, disgrace to some, life to some, death to some, etc.)!

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ

Sanafrughu Lakum 'Ayyuhā Ath-Thaqalāni
We shall attend to you, O you two classes (jinns and men)!

Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ

Yā Ma`shara Al-Jinni Wa Al-'Insi 'Ini Astaţa`tum 'An Tanfudhū Min 'Aqţāri As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Fānfudhū Lā Tanfudhūna 'Illā Bisulţān
O assembly of jinns and men! If you have power to pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, then pass! But you will never be able to pass them, except with authority (from Allah)!

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ

Yursalu `Alaykumā Shuwāžun Min Nārin Wa Nuĥāsun Falā Tantaşirān
There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ
Fa'idhā Anshaqqati As-Samā'u Fakānat Wardatan Kālddihāni
Then when the heaven is rent asunder, and it becomes rosy or red like red-oil, or red hide.

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَان

Fayawma'idhin Lā Yus'alu `An Dhanbihi 'Insun Wa Lā Jānnun
So on that Day no question will be asked of man or jinn as to his sin, (because they have already been known from their faces either white or black)

.فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibān
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ

Yu`rafu Al-Mujrimūna Bisīmāhum Fayu'ukhadhu Bin-Nawāşī Wa Al-'Aqdām
The Mujrimoon (polytheists, criminals, sinners, etc.) will be known by their marks (black faces), and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

Hathihi jahannamu allatee yukaththibu biha almujrimoona
This will be the hell which those who are lost in sin [now] call a lie:

يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ

Yatoofoona baynaha wabayna hameemin anin
between it and [their own] burning-hot despair will they wander to and fro!

Waliman khafa maqama rabbihijannatan
But for him who [the true believer of Islamic Monotheism who performs all the duties ordained by Allah and His Messenger Muhammad SAW , and keeps away (abstain) from all kinds of sin and evil deeds prohibited in Islam and] fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens (i.e. in Paradise).

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?



ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ

Thawata afnan
With spreading branches;

In them (both) will be two springs flowing (free)

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?



فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ

Feehima min kulli fakihatinzawjan
In them (both) will be every kind of fruit in pairs.

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ


Muttaki'īna `Alá Furushin Baţā'inuhā Min 'Istabraqin Wa Janá Al-Jannatayni Dān
Reclining upon the couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruits of the two Gardens will be near at hand.


فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabiayyi ala i rabbikuma tukaththibani
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?



فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ

Fīhinna Qāşirātu Aţ-Ţarfi Lam Yaţmithhunna 'Insun Qablahum Wa Lā Jānn
Wherein both will be those (maidens) restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them.

Ka'annahunna Al-Yāqūtu Wa Al-Marjānu
(In beauty) they are like rubies and coral.


فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabiayyi ala i rabbikuma tukaththibani
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ

Hal Jazā'u Al-'Iĥsāni 'Illā Al-'Iĥsān
Is there any reward for good other than good?

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

مُدْهَامَّتَانِ
Mud/hāmmatān

فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ

In them (both) will be fruits, and date- palms and pomegranates.

Fīhinna Khayrātun Ĥisānun
Therein will be fair (wives) good and beautiful;


فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabiayyi ala i rabbikuma tukaththibani
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ

Ĥūrun Maqşūrātun Fī Al-Khiyām
Houris (beautiful, fair females) restrained in pavilions;

لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ

Lam Yaţmithhunna 'Insun Qablahum Wa Lā Jānn
Whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them.


فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabiayyi ala i rabbikuma tukaththibani
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?


مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ

Muttaki'īna `Alá Rafrafin Khuđrin Wa `Abqarīyin Ĥisān
Reclining on green cushions and rich beautiful mattresses.
