Al Hoor Al Ayn

She is beautiful with big lustrous eyes. A virgin as if she is an emerald. She has loved no one and will love no one but you. She was created for you and only you. If her finger appears it would overshadow the moon. If her bracelet appears in a dark night, it would leave no darkness in the universe. If her wrist appears, it would take away the mind of every sane human being. If she appears between the heaven and earth, the distance between them would be filled by her scent, and if she spits in the oceans of the world the salt water would turn fresh. The more you look at her the more beautiful she becomes. The more time you spend with her, the more you love her.

Does it make any sense to learn about such a woman and not try to meet her? What about when you learn that you will be married not to one, but seventy two of the Hoor!

She's in Paradise

Khalid bin Safwan saw a group in the mosque of Basrah, and he said, “What is this gathering?” He was told, “There is a woman who informs men about women who are available for marriage.” He went to her and said, “I want to marry a woman.” She said, “Describe her to me.” He said, “I want her to be a virgin who is wise like a married woman, or a married woman who is innocent like a virgin; she should be sweet when she is near, splendid when she is at a distance, she should have lived a life of luxury and then became afflicted with poverty — so she has the manners of the rich and the humility of the poor. When we gather wealth we should be as the people of the world, and when we become poor, we should be as the people of the Hereafter.”
She said, “I know of such a woman for you.” He said, “And where is she?” She said, “In Paradise, so work to achieve her!”

A normal person gets 2.

There's a talk by Tawfiq Choudhury on kalaamullah.com called "That which no eye has seen" you should download it.

He says (describes the hoorul ayn) this is how the hoorul ayn will be, they've never fasted, never made salaah, etc, yet they are so beautiful, so how much more beautiful won't your wives be who fasted, who made salaah, who obeyed Allah Subhanhu wa ta'aala?

Well paraphrasing what he said anyway.

I am very sorry but I absolutly HATE when men drool and talk about hoor-al-eyn. I mean, what about your wife now who is going through labor pains to bear your child, who irons your shirts, who washes your nasty underwear, who waits all night until you come home. Who depends and loves you. That's who you are supposed to be dreaming about in Jennah. Not a woman with big breasts and oogley eyes.

And brothers for your FYI your wives will be more BEAUTIFUL than them. So enough of this.

No, you are very wrong. Women are given many rights, and 'Ahl as-Sunnah obviously recognizes what women do. They are also given a superiority in Jannah (to Hur el 'eyn).

Umm Salamah narrates that she said to Rasool Allah "O Rasool Allah, are the women of this world superior or the hurs?" He replied, "The women of this world will have superiority over the hurs just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the innerlining." Umme Salamah then asked, "O Rasool Allah, what is the reason for this?" He answered, "Because they performed salah, fasted, and worshipped [Allah].

Furthermore, the Hur el 'eyn was created for sex. And it is mentioned as a way to incite men, for Jihad, and striving to do good deeds. It is amongst the pleasures of Jannah. For example, wine is mentioned as a satisfaction of thirst, and Hur el 'eyn is mentioned as a satisfaction from sex. If they had not been for sexual incitment, then why would Allah (azza wa 'jal) have said they are 'full breasted' and why did the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaayhe wa Salam) describe their breasts as pomengrates (meaning, round). It is also narrated that he (Sallallahu 'Alaayhe wa Salam) described the sex, in a quite detailed manner. If requested, I will post these Hadiths.

OK this has been bothering me for a while...So. THe hur's r merely there for..sex. What are the women of JANNAH to do? women meaning the women from this DUNIYA what is their role? Will we have like the same wives? I know the women will not have any JEALOUSY. I also heard that all of our ages will be the same? Then how will we distiguish our fathers from our mothers to our sisters? OR is that only in appearence?

Yes, we will have the same wives, and of course they will be more beautiful. And, you distinguish, probably by appearence, I mean, I don't think your going to be attracted to anyone but your wife (Hur el 'eyn).

I'm not understanding...

In Jannah, men will have their earthly wife/wives AND the hoor? ... But no jealousy? I would feel so upset and hurt, but then I had a similar feeling towards polygamy. .. Which its concept I'm still trying to grasp.

That's hard to understand, of course, it would be, no human can begin to think of how it is in Jannah, it is beyond our imagination.

Anyway, I'm sure it's all good. :)

Such a creature could ease all the sorrow I feel right now.

Abu Nusaybah
30-10-07, 08:07 PM
Wives can mean, both the ones in this dunya and the Hur el 'ayn.

The question asked is, why do we need Hur el 'eyn if our EARLTHLY wives in Jannah are more beautiful? Simply because it is another satisfaction of a worldy desire ... sex.

as I said earlier:

Thirst - non intoxicating Wine, honey, and always fresh milk
Hunger - fruits, bull that has been grazing in Jannah, etc...
Sex - Hur el 'ayn

Understand the analogy?

This is the judgement of Allah (azza wa 'jal) and a reward that, we might not understand in this dunya (like us having to eat fish liver, or sometihng like that) as our first meal in Jannah (since, in this dunya, or at least where I live we don't exactly eat that, that part is thrown out) but in Jannah, it will be a satisfying reward.

may Allah (azza wa 'jal) grant us Jannah, Ameen.
