Conference To Combat Terrorist Threats
Date: Saturday 7th July 2007
Time: 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm
Venue: Islamic Cultural Centre, 146 Park Road, London, NW8 7RG
A conference of Muslim leaders to discuss our combined response to combat terrorist threats which are a matter of concern for the whole nation.Following the recent events in London and Glasgow, the status and affairs of British Muslims have again become the focus of unwarranted public attention.
Events have progressed with breathtaking speed and consequences. The Muslim Council of Britain has conducted a series of meetings with the Police and authorities, as well as Muslim community figures, organisations and the ommunity at large. These opportunities have been used to underline the fact that the Muslim community abhors criminal activity; the rationale, methodology and nature of the perpetrators of these crimes must be understood and effectively countered; there is a need for all parties to work together including community institutions, Government, schools and others in addressing the issues raised in a meaningful way. Following on from such nitiatives it is intended to intensify and broaden the scope of such efforts by convening a conference of prominent Muslim leaders and organisations to gree on a joint declaration and strategy to fight the menace posed by terrorist threats together.
All are welcome to attend but do let us know in advance that you would like to come. Lunch will be served at 12.30 pm followed by Zuhr Salah at 1.15 pm.
