I was searching through some Riwayaat and Hikayat, trying to find if the Sahabiyaat did anything such as Kick Boxing or Taek Won Du. I know we take a lot of things for granted and think "well there is nothing wrong with it" but the question I was asking myself, well if there isnt anything wrong with it, than there should be some example of them doing something similar.

I couldnt find anything.

I did however find them horse riding, fighting in battle with weapons, dancing, cooking, teaching, running and even playing on swings. But no wrestling or Kick Boxing or Taek Won Du. I am sure the sisters know their own anatomy, and their biological make up. Thus they would and should be asking themselves how safe kicking is for them, Especially unmarried sisters.

Boxing wouldnt be that bad i suppose, unless they get a broken nose and some teeth poped out, :spunch:.

Just some thoughts, because when i first read this post it just didnt sit right with me, so i looked it up. Based on my view, arobics and light weights etc would be more suitable, just keeping fit and toned, all the defencive arts, the brothers are their to protect you inshallah.

nah bro, ideally, if it werent necessary then fair enough, but these days sisters need 2 be able 2 defend themselves if push comes 2 shove, cos kuffs like picking on women, and its good for self confidence, being toned aint gonna do u much good if u get cornered by someone.

Yes i agree to a certain extent but i doubt that Mutahajiba sister is going to be able to kick an attacker in the mid section or head, the abaya wont allow that movement. Like i said boxing and some defense hand motions, such as locks, grapples, twists, jabs, pierces etc would be more effective.

In any case such notions are dangerous because a sister in hijab doesn't really have the option to run away in case the attacker knows how to fight. That is why she should always have a mahram with her.

of course bro, but the reality is that sisters more often than not wont have a mahram.
good point about not being able to bust a kick with an abaya tho, somthing 2 be considered, but grappling and locks is the very last thing a sister wants 2 be doing with a larger male attacker, this situation calls for a quick and decisive strike, somewhere tender, like a kick 2 the groin or even better, a pair of scissors or something in the eyes or throat.
wallahi if i was a sister i would definitely carry a pair of scissors.

i would suggest sisters to have a knuckle duster on them, they only cost like £20 and if you wear a jibab you can hide it ;)
