Michael Winterbottom's acclaimed docudrama exposes the injustices of the military prison at Guantánamo Bay by focussing on the experiences of the Tipton Three. Ruhal Ahmed, Asif Iqbal and Shafiq Ismail, all from Tipton, Britain, were held in extrajudicial detentiion for two years in Guantánamo Bay before being released without charge in 2004.
The Road to Guantánamo is based on the initial account taken from the men on their release, in which they tell the story of how they came to be in US custody at Guantánamo, and discuss the Kafkaesque horrors that awaited them there, until finally they were released without charge or apology.
Entrance is free, but booking is essential. This film is Cert 15 - proof of age may be requested on entry.
