Salaam all,

just wanted to knw for those of you that have been fortunate enough to go on hajj/umrah..was there anything holding you back?...i.e:..some might say that they are not ready etc...should an opportunity be taken when given or should one delay and go when they are ready?...jzk:up:

Go as soon as you can. One umrah to another is forgiveness for your sins insahllah and it also blesses your risk as you spend your money and effort in the path of Allah. Multiply this many times over for Hajj and if you die there - even better. Never look back at the opportunity - take it while you have it.

Fair point, but as muslims we should always strive to better ourselves....can i expect any transformation?...

Because truthfully when iv find out that some ppl have been on umrah/hajj im really shocked because i would have never thought it!..
Allhamdulilla i try my best as a muslim carrying out the compulsory but i really dont want to come back the same person!...And so many expectations lurke around once you come back...both personal and those from others...and i fear that i cant live up to them..:(

if you have the money for hajj then hajj is fardh on you and you must go
saying 'im not ready' isnt an acceptable excuse
its one of the five pillars of islam

We must go on Hajj as soon as we have the means. Hajj is a serious obligation, one not to taken lightly.
Before going on Hajj it is also necessary to prepare yourself well. No matter what people have told you or who you are going with or how good your Hajj group is, read, read and read. Learn about Hajj, have your aims clearly in your mind, prepare yourself mentaly and physically. You must have the niyyah to change and improve yourself, think about the changes you would make if you returned home.

I have some good articles on Hajj and the preparations for Hajj, I will try to dig them out if aybody wants them, Insha allah.

The hardest thing for me in the world was leaving my babies behind. It was a real test for me as I have never left them and gone anywere before. I don't think I ever will again :o

I've been to Umrah a few times and my dad has been able to take me all times.
Hajj, however is an issue, as my dad is pretty old in age and for health reasons unable to take me. Which leaves me without a mahram (I do have 2 brothers, but one is busy all the time and another isn't baligh yet).

I don't have a mahram who's willing to go :(
I would do anything to go Hajj or Umrah atleast

Inshallah I plan to visit to all three hallowed masjids: Masjid Al-Aqsa, Masjid An-Nabawi, and Masjid Al-Haram. I can not wait to go.

The only thing holding me back is potential visa/entry problems that I may encounter. I heard they think twice before allowing young males to go through. :(

Please make dua that all goes well and I am able to visit all three masjids.

Aside from all the things that we should do/ could do/ would do if this that and the other i have one piece of advice.

Once when i went to Makkah/Madinah was during my second year A-levels and i missed 7 weeks of studying.

Another time i went it was during the final year of my degree course.

All the times i have been have been "inconvenient" for some reason or another, but I would still not change a thing.

And if given the oppurtunity again, I would leave everything as it is, and go to perfrom Umrah. Because experience has taught me that everything is always there ive returned.

If you have your calling, then by all means, answer the call, and dont use "i am not ready " as an excuse. There are many others in the world who strive for the oppurtunity to visit the house of Allah. And I assure you once you set ur eyes of the House of Allah all your "should be, could be, might be's" will have melted into nothingness and you will wonder why you didnt come earlier.

Remember you are a guest of Allah. It is only the people that Alllah wants in his house that he invites. It the oppurtunity is there GO. if not...........then give me your ticket, ill go instead. Ma'salaama!
