u have family here don't u? if u do...stay close to them, or atleast tell ur parents u will stay close to them. or even better...get a sibling or cousin to apply with u and tell ur parents u will have someone with u the whole time. u can't go wrong with getting a degree from a good u.s university. i know our elementry and high school probably isn't as good as UK's, but our colleges are pretty much the same.

besides...i imagine the tuition would be far less....so ur parents might save a bundle :up:

Speaking Of Uni Here In Sa The Teachers Are All On Strike Coz They Want A 10% Increase In Pay And The Governments Only Prepared To Give 'em 7%
They've Postponed The Mid Year Exams Bcoz Of The Strike
We Have A Major Problem Now Coz Wer Suposed To Be Applying Into Unis But Cant Coz They Need Exam Results With Your Application

ooh that' not good- I think the government should invest in t it' worth it! And due to these strikes they are only reducing social output...I have a feeling they gonna stay at 7 though-prove me wrong when they decude to get back to teaching..

Teacher strikees are no good though- they're providing a service to you all which is directly affected by a strike so much more than say a work 2 rule ie only doing as stated in a contract, which most teachers tend to do when unhappy. Then again it maybe that the pay in SA is not good in comparison to what others less capable are paid. Here, in the UK teachers are paid pretty well and their salaries tend to increase yearly depending on the performance of their pupils and so this is a motive for them to stay on teaching (I heard your studen loans are paid off quicker but I dunno if this is true) etc.

School is not bad- don't really know what t say. I guess it's the usual the gud teachers + enjoyable lessons + good social atmosphere = good school life

THEYRE SETTLING ON 7.5 % I THINK...THE PAYS LOUSY FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS PLUS THE CLASSROOMS ARE OVERCROWDED.MOST OF THE TEACHERS ARENT REALLY DEDICATED TO THE JOB OF COURSE YOU GET A HANDFUL OF THEM THAT REALLY LOVE WHAT THEYR DOING AND DO A GOOD JOB OF IT...WELL OTHER THAN THAT OUR SCHOOLS ARE ALRYT-GOOD FRIENDS AND GOOD ATMOSPHERE MAKE IT FUN I GUESS...ALHAMDULILLAH OUR ISLAMIC PVT SCHOOLS ARE EXCELLENT IN ALL ASPECTS
