View Full Version : help with pronounciation/tajweed
I'm trying to re-learn every surah I thought I knew by learning the correct pronounciation via www.transliteration.org (http://www.transliteration.org), but some things are really difficult, even when hearing recitors/qaris recite.
anyway my question is, how do you pronounce: يَدُعُّ (http://transliteration.org/quran/WebSite_CD/Beginner/1070203.mp3)
the transliteration says it's :Yadu``u (http://transliteration.org/quran/WebSite_CD/Beginner/1070203.mp3)
but when you hear the qari recite it, it sounds more like "ya-dul-lu": http://transliteration.org/quran/WebSite_CD/Beginner/1070203.mp3
how exactly should I pronounce this?
(that word is from surah al maun, verse 2).
anyway my question is, how do you pronounce: يَدُعُّ
the transliteration says it's :Yadu``u
:Yadu``u
This is the correct pronunciation
I'm Arabic native speaker
The second one is absolutely wrong.

maybe it will help if you listen to lots of different qaris all reading this ayah then u can here the same thing in different voices and get more clear on the prn, if one sounds to u a bit like it has a lam sound.. another wouldnt insha allah. its totally phonetic, how it is spelt it is said... mayb the ' is confusing, i prefer like this:
the sylables go like this:
ya-du3-3u :)
jazakallahu khairan everyone,
Sister Anna, I think i'll do just as you advised about hearing more qaris.
as salamu alaikum
