Alhamdulillah, the Academy has established a much needed Islamic Secondary Girls School in East London, where within a 10 square mile radius, approximately over 150,000 Muslims are residing. The cost for this project was estimated at around £2.4 million, much of which was raised through Qardha Hasanah (interest-free loans). Alhamdulillah, with the great blessing of Allah (SWT) and generous financial assistance from brothers and sisters, the school started its first academic year in September 2003, and in September 2005, we have started our third year with about 200 students. They are educated in the entire national curriculum as well as Arabic - as a language, and also in detailed Islamic theological sciences (Aalimah Course). The school also enjoys facilities such as an ICT Lab and a Science Lab (which was installed last year). We are seeking to construct a resource library for our students as well as an Islamic reference library for the general public on the same site, InshaAllah.
Alhamdulillah, with the help of Allah (SWT) support from our students and parents as well as dedication from our staff, we have passed a comprehensive OfSted inspection, and subsequently, have gained a full-registration status with the DfES. Apart from education, the School also caters for the leisure needs of our students by providing swimming lessons and various sports opportunities.
We can also announce that we will be starting a Sixth Form college for girls at the Academy from September 2006, primarily to cater for further needs of our first batch of students who are sitting the GCSE exams this summer. This initiative was taken at the demand of the parents of these girls who were concerned about their children's further education. However, admission will be open to external students too, provided there are spaces available. Further details and forms can be downloaded from the bottom of this page or from the 'Downloads' page.
We are also, at this moment in time, in preliminary discussion with the University of East London to start undergraduate courses for Muslim girls at our premises. We are very optimistic that this would begin in near future, InshaAllah.
This school project is a unique service for our daughters and future generations. We strongly believe that it is only through education that our children will learn about their Deen, attain high morals and discipline and retain their true identity.
(We have provided below the school prospectus relevant to this current academic year along with the application forms for Year 7 students (students who will start secondary education in September 2006) and for students of the remaining secondary school years.
