Where do you live bro? I took a driving course with six two hour lessons. Then I got my driving permit. As per New Jersey law, sixteen year olds with permits need to practice driving for six months before they can get a restricted license at age seventeen, and a full license at age eitheen. The course worked for me. Although, I must say that my instructor didn't teach me parallel parking very well. My Dad taught me that.

Driving is practice! Just drive a lot with who ever and u will master it! Its all about practice, nothing else.

Just force your mother or father to come in the car with u like at least 2 hours a week or even 1 hour for maybe like 4 weeks (if ur not good more) and u will do fine inhsaa Allah!

I did the same thing! My instructor tought me that whole rrr and dll or something like that for parelel parking so it really made it easy for me. Plus I never had a situation where I actually parallel parked! NJ sucks doesnt it. In some other states u get ur license a lot earlier than that!

I have, and yes it's absolutely terrifying. One trip is particularly vivid, we were going from Jeddah to Makkah in a taxi with a beddu driver.

He was a brilliant driver, except that he didn't understand what lane discipline or speed limits meant, seemed to think that the brakes were an emergency measure and that the steering wheel was a decent place to put a newspaper.

His method of overtaking was particularly interesting. He'd zoom up behind somebody (driving easily over 100) to within a few meters, flash his headlights until they got annoyed and moved out of the way, then overtake and whilst overtaking turn around to the driver he's just overtaken, gesticulate violently and mouth off a few insults before turning back to see where his car's got to

Crazy, still love it everytime though!

'daddy' says i have to pass my theory before im allowed a go... but then i havta sort out ma provisional again, cos ma purse got stolen and it had everything in it and since then i aint gone back to the post office to get 1 of those form things.... plus if theres 1 thing i REALLY hate its FORMS :torture::torture::torture::torture:it was so unfair... when i was learnin to drive i would bug my dad to take me so i could practice but he never did and now that i aint learnin and PL is... 1 day ma dad just said to her cmon im gna take u drivin... and i was like  u gotta take me toooooo but then hes like u gotta sort out ur provisional yet... and its so not fair cos like every few hours she goes out drivin with ma dad while im left there... lookin at her drivin off from ma bedroom window :(

:salams

 actually ma drivin instructor ages back always asked me if i was sure i hadnt driven before... and i was like the only thing i have is bumper cars, but she was like random u so awesome :inlove: ima tell all my learners to go practice on bumper cars now :coolbro:

:salams

lol at least ur startin to learn again now! but before i turned 17 i was like yeh as soon as i turn 17 ima learn to drive proper quick... but then 17 came and went so did 18 so did 19 and 20's almost gone... :o but its like i dint wanna feel too much of a grown up enit... like when id see people drivin id be like :rubeyes:wow thats so cool.... but now when ma younger sis is drivin... it aint so cool :torture:has jihan learnt?

:smack: yes yes as embarassing as it is i still need ta learn ta drive... but like i was wondering did any of u lot do the intensive driving course, like where u learn in 2 weeks or sumt? that seems way easier plus ive had about 5 lessons but then cos of uni and exams and stuff i kinda never really had anymore... and from the ones i did have i werent that bad so :D

plus like ma sis is always goin off to practice with ma dad n im like feelin all left out :(

:fastcar::fastcar::fastcar: vroom vroom

Sister, I personally wouldn't recommend those intensive courses.
Its (learning to drive) not something you should rush, it takes time to get everything right. What you need is a good instructor, ask around and make sure you feel comfortable with him/her. When you've found an instructor, take about 2 lessons a week, no more than that.

Sister, are you good with the clutch? Once you have perfect clutch control, you’re laughing.

yeh but i can practice like all 2 weeks cant i... that whole instructor thing is so long, cos u learn sumt 1 week and by the next week u forgotten like 75% of what u learnt so its like this proper slow learnin curve... where as with intensive u can just shoot right up n be :hidban::hidban::hidban:

i passed when i was 17, ma mama pished me tho like, but was worth it.

i didn't take intensive, or i would flopped!

just take 2hrs worth of lessons rather than 1, i had 1 lessson a week for 3months and it sucked!

i had to do my test in loughton essex, oh my have you seen the country lanes and the amount of space you have and AND AND YOU HAVE TO DRIVE DOWN THEM AT 60MPH SUBHANALLAH...Now it's a breeze though:D

random i hated driving lessons because my instructor was so friggin strict but thats the best thing because when it comes to your test it will be relaxing like my one and you'll actually enjoy it :D

Anyone have any tips to control road rage, seriously driving in east ldn i begin to have serious rage in me, whereas in essex people are a lot more considerate.

I learnt by my brother who guided me for 3 days, an hour each day, and then he went abroad, later I went to a driving school but surprisingly I drove very well that I felt I shouldn't need to waste my time and money on the instructor so I didn't go to them later.
Lately 2 of my sisters learnt driving from a driving school but they both didn't try on our car, once I let one of them to try but she couldn't handle the gear and clutch system and that was night time so I said, 'try in the daytime' but daytime hasn't come yet for her to drive our car. I'll probably take them someday out to help, but you know that's a headache. And I think ladies shouldn't drive because they are very 'dangerous' on the driving seat, o my God, don't ask me, I personally have suffered from their driving a few times, so who knows better.

Here in Pakistan, you don't have any rules of driving, like you can go anywhere, hit anyone, you only have to be quick in running, but when I went to the UK I asked my bro to let me drive and he did, but at the same time he was telling me about the bus lane and stuff, but that was quite easy and even he praised my driving, like the first time he was instructing in Pakistan, he said, 'You have a good hold of the steering wheel', Alhamdu Lillah.

I was kidding there, lol, because at the same time I have seen equal number of expert lady drivers, better than me. And you know what, there are times when I drive very quick, fast too, but quick means I take sharp cuts, overtaking, or like when it's a traffic jam, that gives me fun, accelerating for a second and applying brakes, it makes me happy, dodging others, uttering audible sounds, but at the same time safe, it's like I know where my car goes, the car becomes part of my body.

And yeah, you should learn it, its fun driving and at the same time it's important because maybe Allah forbids you can drive at the hour of emergency.

Hardly anyone passes their driving test the first time.

It's usually the second or third time

I admit.... I fit the sterotype...I simply cannot reverse around left corners, I'm hopeless at it. I either end up almost in the middle of the road or if I'm close...I'm very close to the curb.
