Ahhh.. me too.. I was trying to revise and all I could think of was itching the roof of my mouth with my tongue..
Stop popping pills and start swallowing them.. They're more effective that way.
vaseline on the inside of the nostrils?

What would a mere Yorkshire dinner lady know about pills.
She probably knows more about using rabbit droppings to cure 'ailments'.

Yeh, I've got hayfever :( .. Tried everything, and I'm afraid nothing can stop it.. Its true it tends to get worse during exam season. :( The nasal sprays like Beconase never worked for me, but Clarityn/Zirtek do help a little.

Well.. different medicines work for different people because of the different types of pollen..
My pollen is definitely not grass.. I was just running about in it normally...
I think mine is OAK TREES :bangbang:

I might try that actually thank you..
Hmm..putting vaseline in your nose stops you sneezing...
 So putting vaseline in your eyes will stop them itching.. Thanks MG..
Gonna try it :outta:
i used to have major hayfever, but not it's gone very mild for some reason. i found that no medicine would work on me, but the best thing for me was ice cold water. like when you're doing wudhu and put water up your nose. when i got hayfever, i would get ice cold water and wash my nose as if doing wudhu and it would work...
only problem is that the ice cold water would make your nose red. :D

Lol..yeah.. to match your eyes..
So.. it looks like we've got the sneezing sorted..
Now we've got the eyes to worry about..I heard that putting cucumber slices over your eyes stopped them itching.. Problem is.. you cant see anything.. and every single time I try it.. I've eaten the cucumber slices barely after I've put them on.

not on your eyes you nutter!
apparently the vaseline catches the pollen as it reaches the nose, so it doesnt end up going inside hence giving u watery eyes inshallah
yeah :(
eyes water
ears tickle
nose sniffle
is it possible 2 develop hayfever? i mean ive never had it, but i have the above plus eyes itch/tickle, head rushes etc.

Yes you can develop hayfever.. well I know people who didnt have it when they were younger but suffer from it now.
Also you do 'grow out' of hayfever.. it just kinda wears off.
My mum found that the best treatment for her hayfever was having locally produced honey, the idea is that thehoney is produced from the same sort of pollen that affects u.
Its worth givin it a go and it has worked wonders for me mam and bro http://forum.mpacuk.org/images/smilies/icon_thumbsup.gif

Lol.. OMG.. I did try that once coz i was thinking along the same lines.. but the honey wasn't local.. maybe thats why it had no effect.
Thanks for your answer

Cetirizine (first line treatment) or Loratidine tablets, one daily and are non drowsy. control all main symptoms of hayfever. Along with tablets one has to try and make sure they aint exposed much to things which could trigger the symptoms off.
For drowsy stuff, something like Piriton (chlorpheniramine)
If its just say runny nose, then try summat like flixonase nasal spray...supposed to be better than the beconase nasal spray.
opticrom (Sodium Chromoglicate) eye drops for itchy eyes.
anybody in uk started to get hayfever yet? i've started to get it already! and i thought it was a cold!

Assalamualaikum
I have it disastrously. And it gets on the nerves of the other persons.
It's probably an alergy to something. Plants, people, weather, the country, studying, cleaning detergents, pets.

Having spent last 'spring' in the UK, apparently I do. Never experienced until I came here... it's like having a constant cold.

"Piriton" is the best medicine that I've come across when getting hayfever. I don't buy anything else. Nothing else works for me. You can get piritons from your local chemist but the only downfall is that it makes you drowsy at first but the more you take it the more used to it you get.
