Assalamu Alaikum,

I was wondering if anyone knew of sound/ audio capturing software- say for DVDs or Youtube vidoes in which a talk is being presented or a nasheed is played?

Also if you know of motion/ video footage capturing/ recording software for Youtube/ DVD videos then that would be appreciated too.

These are for CDs/ DVDs/ Internet i.e. Youtube.

Jezak'allah.

i don't understand, do you want to record something that's live? if so then you could simply use a camcorder, record normally, then transfer the video to the pc . the problem then would be how to transfer from camcorder to pc. if you have a pci/usb capture card then you can plug the camcorder to the pc and then extract it that way (the necessary software comes with the capture card).

if you want to transfer DVD's to youtube, you just gotta rip the dvd's, and for that you'd have to basically transfer dvd to avi or mpeg format (maybe even wmv). my recommendation is mpeg2 since it's very close to dvd (dvd's are mpeg2 but different bitrate) and u won't lose that much quality. then just upload to youtube.

if you want to capture youtube vidoes, you can use www.youtubex.com , simply copy the youtube video URL to the youtubeX site and it'll let you download the youtube video. just save the video and use VLC media player (www.videolan.org) to play it. Alternatively, you can get Democracy Player from www.getdemocracy.com , it's a awesome player that lets you download videos from youtube, daily motion and othe rplaces and play it on the computer.

if you want to capture anything on screen, regardless of where your playing it from, then you can get wink. wink is used to make video tutorials online mostly, since it records the whole screen, including mouse motion. get it from here: http://www.debugmode.com/wink/

there's also cam studio which lets you do the same:
http://www.camstudio.org/

or you can try fraps like the brother above mentioned.

as salamu alaikum
