is it just me or has ummah changed?
there used to be discussions that took place which had meaning and purpose. we could learn from each other, its not that there aren't any beneficial sections anymore but
now it seems like a place where people are either making more work for the mods, posting up stupid threads, about stupid things or simply wasting there time indulging in fitnah! either participating in idol chit chat or just cussing each other as it seems fun!!
I mean there non muslims that come on here what are they going to think of the comments that are made against your muslim sister or brother in islam? maybe you both know your joking but would a person who takes the literal meaning of your jokes to each other understand them as that too?
its nice to have a laugh sometimes, and jokes are not forbidden in islam. but there's limits to everything and some are transgressing these limits.
maybe its because all the good members have left , who made ummah what it was :(
now it seems to be on the verge of becoming a 'chat room' or simply a matrimonial forum.
what happened to Ummah?
are the way some are conducting themselves through their interaction with other members promoted by islam?
what is ummah's purpose of existence?
why does it seem to have changed?

Asalamuanaykum my brother

i have joined ummah 2day and already i have learned more here than i do in a week. i personally think that noew ummah concentrates more on the ones who need help, and less on the ones who already are wisely educated in islam.

Though saying that i understand were you are coming from.

yea guess I agree. the first stage to solving a problem is actually agreeing that it exists so yea I've always managed to find so many threads that go sooooooooo unnecessarily off topic with sum sort to and fro war between brothers and sisters.
so anyway guys we should take this advice and cut out sum of the random stuff we post, I guess most of my posts consist of that so I gotta stop too inshallah.

i too agree with your post brother/sister :)
when i first joined this site it was a great forum-so different from the rest. There were beneficial threads/posts, and good discussion from which people learned many things, but now its become a joke. Users joke about too much and sometimes we do need to lighten up but the amount of fitnah taking place on this forum presently is shameful.
Again, i agree with 'member?' about other people viewing the forum and getting the wrong ideas, this is not aimed at all the users but a select few who insist on spoiling our forum with useless threads and idle conversations.
May Allah save us all from Fitnah and keep us all steadfast ameen :)

^^^ Ameen
I do agree with the first poster, in that there's so many unneccesary posts that have nothing to do with islam. Quite awhile ago it was just the opposite. But insha allah we should make do with what is here. It surely is better than nothing.

In my opinion, somethings have changed-but pretty much same over all. I guess it really depends how long you have been here too.

indeed i do agree with you, i too have laughs and fgun and brother it is very true there is a limit to everything. and yes if i was to be a non muslim and came to this froum to a thread like in languages forum i would think different like wow in islam we are aloud to mix congregate when in a mtter a fact we are not. if a brother and sister talk about something it can only be about islam or work based. *sad*
