i've got some language learning materials for German and French but they are all audio only, and it's difficult to catch up with only audio, especially French, i have them in CD form. Are there softwares/programs that i can use to get audio transformed into text form?

I don't think any of them would work for that application.
All the ones I'm aware of need to be "trained" to recognise individual voice patterns.

Yeah it takes longer to 'train' them :P Stick them on your phone / MP3 player and listen to them whenever you are out

i know u can do use IBM's or Microsoft's voice-to-text programs (like dragon natural speaking) but like the others said, you have to train em. Here's a free one from microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/moskowitz_02september23.mspx
IBM actually has much better products out, where you don't have to train it at all, but those are only sold to big corporations for voice/phone systems where customers call in for problems, explaining to the computer whats the problem and then hooks the caller to the right customer representative for help.
i think it would be best/easiest if you just slowed down the audio while it was playing, then you could have more time to absorb the material while it's being played and then you can understand them.
