cables are loose?
see if you can record any audio via windows sound recorder. if you see the bars /waves moving, then atleast you know ur sound card is fine. and if all of that is fine, then two probabilities,
1) your speakers blew out
or
2) windows sound settings are messed up. if that's the case, then you should reinstall the sound drivers and hopefully that should fix it. if after that it doesn't fix, it's very possible the speakers blew out.
but in order to really tell if the speakers blew out or not...i would take the speakers and see if it plays any audio from a different system. u can for example take ur mp3 or cd player, and put it in the headphone jack and see if sound plays. if it plays, then u know the speakers are good. if it doesn't, then definitely the speakers blew out...

try these - in any order..
-disconnect the sound cables n then reconnect them
-restart the comp
-check the drivers
-connect headphones to ur pc n check the sound - if it plays ok then the problems with ur speakers/monitor(if it has built in speakers)
run antivirus stuff
-make sure all the cables are plugged in properly in the correct places
alternative...sing the nasheeds you were gonna listen to...read the Quran recitations you were gonna listen to...:)
