Anyone know what can be downloaded (preferably free) to edit digital photos? ... specifically adding text at the bottom of a pic ... I take pictures of shoddy construction work, add a small note at the bottom and print them for the subcontractors ... also pointing arrows would be nice ... thanks in advance ... Iggy

One of the best freeware image editors is Gimp > http://www.gimp.org/windows/

Definitely up there with Photoshop. Photoshop is better, yes, but no where near £200 better. GIMP is better than any other competitor to Photoshop...

One major problem it has, its a ******* to use/learn. So you may find it difficult to learn to use it, but for basic stuff you're doing it should be fine.

For other people who try it and think its crap, follow some tutorials and you'll discover why people think its a decent competitor to Photoshop ;)

Ig once you're up and running (installed) if you need ask for assistance can give you specific instructions etc for what you wanna do insha'Allah
