some people are saying that some chocklates, sweets, ketchup etc are haram because they contain some animal ingrediants in them.

So if you eat one of the above, is the sin the same as eating non-halal meat?(shirk)

does anyone here actually eats Mars bars, skittles etc?

Skittles have gelatin, hence haram.
Eating haram is not skirt unless you think of it as permissible to eat haram.

Salam akhi,

Excuse me if I don't address your question; but there is something that surprised me in your post. What made you think that eating non-halal meat is "shirk" ? 'Haram' actions (sins) have nothing to do with "shirk". "Shirk" is a heartly act that is associated with belief; and it can be in different levels (major, small, and hidden), mainly, it is to believe in existance of a deity/divinity other than Allah.
