أيها العالم ما هذا السكوت

أو ما يؤذيك هذا الجــــــــــــــبروتُ؟

أو ما تُبصر في الشيشان ظلمـــــــــاً

أو ما تُبصر أطفالاً تمــــــــــــــــوتُ؟

أو ما يُوقظ فيك الحسَّ شعــــــــــــبٌ

جمعُه من شدَّة الهول شَتِــــــــــــتُ؟

أرضه تُصلى بنيران رصــــــــــاصٍ

وشظايا هُدمت منها البيـــــــــــــوتُ

أو ما تُبصر آلاف الضحايــــــــــــــــا

ما لها اليوم مقيلٌ أو مبيـــــــــــــتُ؟

شرَّدتها الحربُ في ليلٍ بهيــــــــــــمٍ

ما لها في زحمة الأحداث قـــــــــوتُ

تأكل الأخضر واليابس حــــــــــــربٌ

كل ما فيها من الأمر مقيــــــــــــــتُ

أين منها مجلس الأمن ومـــــــــــاذا

صنع الحلفُ وأين الكهنُــــــــــــوتُ؟

أيها العالمُ ما هذا التغاضــــــــــــــي

كيف وارى صوتك العالي الخفـوتُ؟

أو ما صُنعت قوانين ســــــــــــــــلامٍ

عجزت عن وصف معناها النُعـوتُ؟

قاذفات الروس إعلان انتــــــهــــاكٍ

لقوانينك ، واللًّص فَلُـــــــــــــــــوتُ

فرصة أن تُعلن الحق ولكـــــــــــــن

فرص الحق على الباغي تفـــــــوت

ربما تعلن قول الحق لكــــــــــــــــن

بعد ما يعلنه في البحر حـــــــــــوت


أيها الأحباب في الشيشان صــــبراً

إن من ينصر حقاً يستميـــــــــــــتُ



إن يكن للروس آلات قتــــــــــــــالٍ

فلنا في هجعة الليل القنوت

oh world, what is this silence?
doesn't this tyranny harm you?
don't you witness injustice in chechneya?
can't you see children dying?
doesn't a nation awake you when-
from how strong their burden is their unity has been shattered?
their land has been ripped apart by bullets-
and shrapnel destroyed their houses.
cant u see thousands of victims
who have no house or place to sleep?



the war displaced them in a very dark night
because of events they had nothing to do with (can be better)
the war destroyed the living and the dead
everything in it (the war) is distasteful

where are the security council and what-
did the allies do and where are their clegymen??

Oh world what is this overlooking?

How did your loud voice (oh world) suddenly become quiet??

Didn't you make laws of peace-
that adjectives couldn't describe??

the shells of the Russians breached-
your laws, the criminal is escaping. (meaning the russians... i guess the proverb only works in arabic but i translated it anyway)

it was your chance(oh UN) to speak the truth but-
chances to say the truth are always missed by the oppressor

You may end up saying the truth but-
only after a fish has announced it in the sea ( arabic proverb)

oh loved ones in chechneya, have patience
only those who desperately struggle give the truth victory

If the russians have war machines
then we have qunoot in the night
