Can someone explain the Mihna (Mihna (محنة, miḥnah) means 'ordeal' or 'inquisition.') to me? It seems the Abassid Caliph Ma'mun started to ask individuals if the Quran was created or not (the Islamic answer is no, the Qur'an is not created) but that was the wrong answer to Ma'mun and some Caliphs after him until 848, i.e. you were opressed, jailed, flogged or killed for not agreeing with the Caliph's view (I think). Also is saying the Qur'an in created Kufr or not?
