Performing Ummrah during summer is not that much hard..actually all the places A/C is available so it will not be very hot like Riyadh or Dammam..

anyway If you do Ummrah after Magrib it will be much better and temperature also get normal... may allah accept your Ummah, Ibadath and make your Journey Esey..

Went back in august..Am returning back there inshaAllah very shortly:D:D
Twas the first time I had been in summer, usually go in Ramadhan, and I wasnt too sure what to expect, but just make sure you're hydrated all the time, and tbh its hot but you get used to it so don't worry about insha'Allah:up:
We did 'Umrah mainly in the evenings, was more crowded, but was definately cooler..As for mornings,I think I was asleep:o

I suppose you dont really notice the heat all that much.

But a big problem for me first time round, was very bright light shining on the brilliant white marble...can really dazzle you and hurt your eyes.

Remember us in your du'as inshAllah.

we went in august and alhamdulilah it wasnt too bad

try and plan it so you do your ummrah just before/after fajr or after magrib/isha-when its slightly cooler

after about 12/1pm-ish it gets really hot...so make sure you are wearing suitable clothing..light,natural fibres under ur jilbaab...and a light material jilbaab (try and get a cotton/linen one made..the ones they sell out there are all synthetic and not v.suitable for the weather)

drink plenty of zam zam

you'll be so  by your surroundings..you wont notice the heat :D

I would like also to go this year for Umrah - but could someone please tell me what is the dress code in Saudi??? What about for non-Muslims?

My main concern is that I do not wear jilbaab etc (please not wishing to get into a debate about that fact now though) and am wondering about after Umrah etc...

Jazakullah - I have tried looking on official sites but its as clear as mud lol, so was hoping that maybe some sisters with practcial experience will be able to assist - also when does it become a necessity to put on hijab in Saudi - on the plane?? I am asking as a non-hijabi sis...

May Allah help you to perform Ummrah as soon as possible, Regarding Dress Code specially saudi people. mans wear white Toop or a type of Jilbab you can say, but women wear normal cloth as others country women, As cocern to Non-Muslim there is strickly not allowed under area of Makkah & Madina..If any one found by mistake to police they will ask lot of question & some time they may take serious action because all they people they known there is restriction for non-muslim to went near by Haram shareef area:up:

jazakallah for all ur tips

so the best time is around fajr or after magrib when its cooler,
fajr time appeals to me as im an early bird so after doing umrah or just tawaaf i can sleep till zuhr:-)

when its hot its prob less busy and crowded but id find it too hot to do tawaaf then

inshallah i will remember all of u in my duaas, any special requests then p.m me, ive still got ffew months left

Alhamdulillah I've been umrah and both times was in summer. Its bearable, very easily bearable IMO. Maybe its because I aint been in the winter so cant compare the different weather but tbh the saudi hukumat have mashaALLAH made a lot of ease - AC literally everywhere, plentiful supply of H20, well-ventilated.

I think ppl exaggerate the heat - yes its hot - but what do u expect? Dont worry too much abt the "heat" - just concern yourself with making good use of yr time. Too many people - including myself - found that wasted too much time in futile activity. Learn from others mistakes blud
