View Full Version : problem with website links :using dreamweaver
as salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh, alhamdulillah i made this site with dreamweaver programme, and i finally figured out how to make the links on my website pop up in another screen ( instead of redirecting them away from my site when they clicked the link :smack: ) anyway ...what i still cant figure out though is how to make this type of pop out link when using a picture to link them to another site. what do i set it too in the dreamweaver programme to make it do that...
heres my site so u can see what i mean. www.islaminjersey.com so when u click on any link it pops out now in another window , but when u click on the Quran pic it doesnt.... it takes you away from my site and to the other site with Quran ...
insha Allah someone knows how to do that ... and can let me know please insha Allah :) ( and i have no IT background at all so keep it simple as possible please insha Allah )
jazakumAllahu khairin amin
Replace in your code where the Quran Image is
<a href="http://www.iiu.edu.my/deed/quran/nobelquran/index_t.html">
with
<a href="http://www.iiu.edu.my/deed/quran/nobelquran/index_t.html" target="_blank">
That will work inshallah :)
jazakAllahu khairin akhi amin, thank u so much Alhamdulillah :up:
Allahu akbar it worked :D
that's a pretty site, u did that all by urself? i beent hinking of starting a site too....

well id never done anything except use a basic computer before, so i got someone to help me set up the picture on the top bar ( although i messed that up a bit ( it has two little weird blue things where it says " home " i dunno how to fix it :S ) and they helped me with the template for the home page, then a couple of hours tuition to learn how to use all the other buttons and i just used a template same for each page, then i just add pics, and text, links etc. its pretty simple once u have the basics insha Allah :)

if you look at this link:

you'll see the problem lies with the banner image. there's a blue thing in there...so in order to fix it, you'd probably have to edit the image... maybe like this:

It would be a good idea that for every problem that is solved, for the thread starter to change the title of the subject by adding [SOLVED] to it.
E.G thread title before problem solved would be "Overclocking Problem"
after the problem is solved the title is changed to "Overclocking Problem [SOLVED]"
Just helps other people who have the same problem.
i don't think that's possible, specially for thread starters. maybe admin's can do it, but i doubt it...
the best thing you can do is IF you see the problem is solved, then rate it 5 out of 5 stars, then people can know it's solved.

jazakAllahu khairin akhi still trying to figure this out, cos when the banner was made it was made in layers and its all kind of intertwined with the links on the top bar and im scared to mess it all up, anyway i`ll try to fix it insha Allah. :up:

wa feeki baarakallahu. u know sis, you can use mspaint to edit small things like that. since it'sonly a straight line, consisting of only a few pixels, open the banner image in mspaint. zoom in until you can see the pixels at box level (that is, you can hover the paint brush and see the actual pixel, then just "paint" over the part you don't want and color match it.
personally I hate creating images because of all this work. it's much more fun to just code the page and then marvel at the results.
