My friend told me when she was very young and she was at her aunt's funeral, she saw a coffin that her aunt was in while men were carrying it and she asked her mum, ''what's in the box?''. Good thing she didn't say it loudly.

My youngest son is 14 and a bit of a clown. We were walking through the mall and asked me if I knew how to tell how many of the people around us were idiots. I replied that I didn't know so he jumped up on a bench and yeled out, "Hey idiot" and then started to count how many people turned around. I felt like crawling under something :p

Loool.. kids.. cant believe I used to be one.. some would argue that I still am..

Anyway..

Me, my mum and my little brother Usamah were in "PC WORLD" one day and we needed some assistance with a product. So my mum was looking around for someone wearing purple.. and she said to Usamah "Can you see any purple people?" and he replied "No, But there's a black one.." and he pointed his finger in the direction of a black man who had just passed us as he said it...

Poor dad...after awhile you learn their body language and know that they are going to ask for something. My kids were always amazed and thought that I was some kind of psychic because the convos would go like this:
Them: Hi dad
me: hey
them: what are you doing?
me: how much do you want?
them: what makes you think I wanted money?
me: I just know.
them: ok well I was going to ask you for twenty bucks for (insert object here)

By the time they were teens they would walk up and I would just say, "No"

my lil one was being misbehaving, so i blocked his Sky cartoon channels until further notice, once he noticed he kept apologising profusely , saying he wont be naughty again (i.e. whining) and i jus kept firmly refusing to unlock the Sky cartoon channels , this just made him get really upset and say the following:

*imagine a frustrated child in a loud voice*

lil one: "When i get big im going to be a Sky Man!!! and im going to come to this house and unblock all my cartoon channels and you wont be able to do anything!"

If you consistently refuse to give your children extra money, they will stop asking. My dad did this, he gave us an allowance (which was substantially lower than the other kids got btw) and always refused requests for money besides this. He was so consistent in refusing to give additional money I never bothered asking. In fact I didnt ask for any money from him when I went to university and I was pleasantly very surprised when he gave me money for living expenses at uni.

well in our house, mom was the soft touch for stuff like money. The girls were the worst. They would come up with ideas like, "hey Mom, you should go shopping...I saw this purse that you would looooove." So naturally mom would take them and invariably the purse was gone but the girls would always come home with new stuff

Funny stories about my kids..

hmm..

My son just had a hand operation and Allhumdulilah the bandahes off and hes doing very well all healed etc..

But towards the end of the 3 weeks he had bandages my youngest was getting tetchy, hes usually the one who-gets most of my attention, not intentionally just because he has allergies and ecema and needs looking after!
he decided while i was changing eldests bandage and checking healing that he needed one too, and spent the rest of the day with a big white bandage on his tiny hand subhannallah, didnt wonna miss out on any mummy attention lol!!!

Middle son insisted he has the most accedents etc.. and needs plasters..

lol! @ funny kids i remember when i was lil my brother had very bad asthema and got lots of treats after a spell in hospital..man i wanted asthema so bad !!!

About 17 years ago I had to have my nose rebuilt. It has been broken so many times that I have lost count and the nasal passages had grown closed.
I spent the night in the hospital and came home the next day. My second youngest daughter was about 2 1/2 then. She came up and gave me a big hug and asked if my nose hurt. I said no because at the time it really didn't. Her little hand came flying up, grabbed my nose and cranked it(we played a wrestling game where the object was to crank each other's nose) and yelled, "HONK"
I was almost in tears and she was laughing because she had honked me by surprise.

It is sooo much easier when they are your own kids. You get to see them grow up and your patience increases as things happen

When Ruqayya was about 7 months old, we were at the baby clinic - there was an area where the babies play on the floor - and there was this little boy who was quite a lot younger, could only lie down and kick his little legs - well Ruqayya decided she wanted to eat his head. She could do that commando style crawling, and would commando up to this little boy's head, with her mouth wide open and grab his head lol - each time the boy's mum would gently remove Ruqayya's hands and I would grab her ankles and pull her backwards - but she kept returning, determined to eat his head... poor lil boy lol. We managed to stop her from succeeding lol

Hehe! :p That reminds me of a time when I took the lil one to the baby clinic to be weighed. I think she was about 9 months then. Anyway while we were waiting, there was a little blond haired blue eyes 10 month old boy and a 9 month old little black girl with colourful ribbons in her hair!

So we put all 3 babies on the floor to play, and after looking at one another for a few sconds, the blond boy began to crawl over to Rumaysa to eat her feet; the little black girl crawled over to the blond boy to stroke his head, Rumaysa began to pull the black girls ribbons off and then eat the blond boys rabbit teddy; the blond boy then started to poke Rumaysa's eye's and the little black girl proceeded to sit in Rumaysa's lap and pull the blond boys trousers!

It was quite hilarious to watch I can tell you :p

MashaAllah thats soooo cute

I took Ruqayya to a soft play area nearby recently, and there was this other little girl the same age (though a whole head taller cause Ruqayya's very small for her age lol) - and Ruqayya went up to this little girl and gave her a huge hug, knocked her right down ( @ soft play area = soft landing lol) then crawled over her. The little girl just sat there, with this bemused look on her face like "what hit me??!"

Soft play areas are such fun... first time I took Ruqayya in the ball pit she nearly got submerged lol. We were both in there to start with cause she was a bit scared, then I stood up and caused a bit of a landslide (or should I say ball slide) and Ruqayya slid into where I was and nearly got submerged lol :p but I rescued her mashaAllah

us "where r you going with that lot?"
son"I might not know which one to read"

us"subhannallah, pack what u want"
hubby to me"when hes in bed we'll take that lot out"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hes so funny subhannallah, he managed to shove 3 books, and 5 yes 5 large soft toys in his bag as well as several top trumps sets and numerous other "essentials, including a tourch and lots of toy cars..

subhannallah!!

dont worry i've left him the good stuff, i could barely lift his bag when i went to see what he'd packed lol

oh and mr 4 year old son had packed an assortment of pants, none of them his own!!!!!!!!!!

i dread to think what my eldest has put in his bag lol!!!

The ball pit at the soft play area we were at wasn't that big, just enough room for a couple of older kids, or a mum and a toddler lol :p :D at back packing - if I'd done that as a kid my parents would have made me lug the whole set of books round with me just to teach me what travelling light means lol

When my kids were little, beef jerky(dried seasoned meat) was a real treat in our house. This one time we went and bought our dog these treats called begging strips that look like dried strips of meat. We gave the dog a couple of strips and put the bag under the sink with the pet supplies.
The next day, the bag was empty and we thought that somehow the dog had gotten in there during the night and eaten them all but my youngest ratted her sister(the second youngest) out and told us that Leah had gotten up in the night and snuck into the kitchen because she didn't think it was fair that the dog got all the "jerky" We found about half of the strips under her mattress...she had eaten the rest

well at least it was only the remote control you had to replace - when my brother was younger he would watch us carefully working the vcr, putting the tapes in and taking them out, always remembering to clip the baby guard thing back on afterward...so of course after a while he figured out how to remove the baby guard thing himself...and naturally felt it was right to stuff a plastic toy soldier, a couple of pencils and some other stuff into it - and then replace he baby guard...so next time we put a tape in and pressed rewind...well lets just say technically we broke the vcr!

When I went to collect my brother from school today one of the mums there was chasing after her two little girls - the younger one was being really naughty and the mum was getting really stressed. Eventually she took this little girl to the side of the playground and told her to sit on there for three minutes (the time out on the naughty step kinda thing) ...only this little kid kept getting up and running away so the mum was getting more and more stressed out - what made me laugh was that all the time the mum was running after the naughty kid, her older little girl was following her mum around going 'mum, mum please can I sit on the naughty spot, can i sit down there, please mum, please!' :D

This morning I was lying on the sofa reading a book whilst Ruqayya played happily. Then she climbed on the sofa, I thought cause she wanted a cuddle. But no. She grabbed the book out of my hands, sat on my head and sat there "reading" the book lol (until I gently removed her which isn't easy when your head is pinned to the sofa)

She does this to me in salat too. In fact I think she's realised that she can take liberties with mummy when mummy's doing salat, cause of mummy following the hadeeth about staying in sujood if a small child decides to jump on your back whilst in sujood. By analogy I assume the same applies if the small child sits on your head lol. She also climbs on my back sometimes, or when I'm standing she toddles round me in circles lol (just waiting for me to go into sujood so she can climb on me/sit on my head/etc lol) and sometimes she plonks herself right in the middle of my prayer mat, and once she carried her box of building blocks and emptied them right on the prayer mat lol.

Though its totally :inlove: cute when sometimes she tries to copy me and does sujood facing totally the wrong way and then rolls onto her back and lies there in a star shape lol :inlove:

What age (roughly) to kids start actually copying parents when they do salat inshaAllah?

I thought I would share an anecdote about my youngest brother, from back when we were young. My then teenage sister took seven year old Abdullah (Abs) out grocery shopping.

While they were out, Mum and I at home received a call. My mum picked up, and the caller was completely quiet though mum constantly said hello. She put the receiver down and seemed slightly miffed, shaking her head with an upset look-saying these “these crank callers”!

15- 20 minutes later another call. I then picked the phone up. I not only said hello, but also asked to know who was calling. This time a little voice piped up and asked for Abdullah. The caller sounded like my impish brother Abdullah asking for himself. I said so to the caller not being too sure that it was. The caller Hang up leaving me puzzled. I didn’t mention anything to my mum so not to create any fuss.

My sister and seven year old Abdullah came home from shopping 10 minutes later; I asked whether any of them had anything to say. My sister sheepishly after a little while admitted allowing Abdullah to go to a call box. My mum (not aware of Abs and the phone box) came in. Abdullah a bit nervous to get into as less trouble as possible piped up and said to my mum, “mum I called home 10 minutes ago, but the call you received 30 minutes ago was not me”!...

No one had mentioned at all that there had been TWO calls within the last half hour…! :)

Ruqayya (19 months old) likes to try to copy me whilst I'm doing salat, she tries to do ruku and sujood - sometimes she fetches a prayer mat or two when she hears the adhan, and today mashaAllah, after she tried to do salat with me, she put away my prayer mat for me, put it right in the corner where it goes..... shame she didn't wait for me to finish praying first mashaAllah :rotfl:

hahhahahahahhahahhahahhahahhahahah :p

:inlove: so funi thats absolutely hilarious...............*deep breadth*

:sub: kids say the loveliest things but sometimes they can be so ..erm strange.

Yesterday my seven year old cousin was talking about Nasheeds and she asked me:

'Do you like Sami Yusuf.... as a a man?' ( )

:sub: i was flabbergasted and thought maybe she got the wrong end of the stick so i said 'yes :masha: his nasheeds are nice they remind me of Allah :Swt: ' but she went on further to ask 'do you want to marry him?'

 at this point i had to join in with the kids lingo and went 'ewwww no yuk yuk i only like the Nasheeds!'

But :masha: kids can be so innocent yet comical at the same time

Last year when i was doing my placement in a year 3 class at a primary school, they were learning about animals. The teacher said what does a lamb become? a child said sheep, she said what does a calf become? some1 said cow, then she said what does a piglet become? 1 child said pork. The childs reaction was hilarious!

This is about my neighbour he's 5/6 yrs old his mother told me he was at school and wasnt behaving himself so the teacher warned him but he did'nt listen to her so the teacher handed him a letter to give to his parents...now what he did was he ripped the letter and threw it in the bin
the next morning the teacher asked him

'did u give the letter to ur parents' and he goes
'I gave to my dad he read and chucked it in the bin ' :rotfl:

the teacher was so furious so called the parents at school and now he's grounded for a month lol

I cannot believe his guts!! I could never ever ever think of doing something like that
