My donkey story:

I spent a year in 1997 in Florence, Arizona ... building a waste water plant at the state prison ... a story within it self, but nevermind ...

The prison grounds were surrounded by federal land with cattle grazing rights ... a farmer I met would release young cattle to graze for the winter before sending them to a feed lot ... he would send out a donkey with them as a kind of supervisor ... somehow, he would keep the cattle calm and stop them from wandering away from the herd ... same donkey every year he told me ... had a GPS on him so they knew where to start herding them back ... cool huh? ... :o
