we did a poll in general for the signups so yeh we will make the sign in thread here and i will like pm the surah noor ppl from general n tell them 2 come and sign it? and rashid might do that for juz ama?

Yep as akhee rashid explained, insha'Allah Ill be dong the juzz amma group but I was thiking earlier... How about I post the ayaats for both juzz amma and for surah noor and then you can post the tafseer for surah noor and akhee rashid can post tafseer for juzz amma so its not too much work for you guys. That way we split the workload.

Also, erm, who is doing the asmaa al husna? I thought akhee ibn sulaiman was doing it, but I think he is just posting the audio and leaving it at that? I was thikning of posting 2 names a day like we do with the ayaats, that way everyone learns the same names in the same order. I dont mind taking care of that too insha'Allah but Im not too sure what you guys already pre planned while I was away..

yes ibn sule is supposed 2 b doing asma ul husnaa like that with 3-4 names per day (starting with 4 for first ones as its easy, then going 2 three after 9 days, so we get 99 done in the month?)

We had this discussion at the start of this project and I was one of the ones who actually persuaded Abu Muslim to add transliterations in...but now I changed my mind and I think its best to just use the Arabic and the audio to learn (and obviously the translation for the meaning)

The transliteration leads to people making and learning mistakes not using tajweed properly etc

insha'Allah I will edit and add the transliteration from now. Although I still don't think we should use them, I do realise a lot of people struggle without it so I'll add them but still recommened you only use the arabic and audio and if you must..then the transliteration.

Hmm yea I agree ukhtee, its pretty dissapointing but lets make excuses insha'Allah maybe they're like super busy or learning in secret and waiting right till the end and then they'll sya they're done. I think cos its ramadaan everyone all over the place cos no ones even signed up to do the surah naziat and we're 3 days in.

You know I kinda had a feeling that would happen wih the whole splitting it up and thats why I was against the idea. Like with the surah noor, that you would be the only one doing it but I didnt want to say anything and was hoping I got proved wrong. after ramadan me and ibn sule thought we can do this hadith project aswell cos i found one cool site for hadith qudsy then ibn sul said t do imam nawawis 40 first and he gave a site for that. so might unify for the quran, and do a shorter one with all the people (bt as b4 can u not take ne juz ama and juz tabarak tho if i come back then cos i hav finished with them..) thenn if we do that in ur group normal amount then we can do hadith group on the side for memorising those. i dnt think its gn b that popular as compared 2 memorising quran bt im prepared 2 run it anyway, even if ppl dnt memorise they could read it daily n benefit from it insha allah, and we will use those sites. ur views?
oh we hav another project aswell coming after ramadan which is sister dhakiyya and sister zeal's thing mainly about islam Faq bt i think they will announce that themselves i guess

Yup al7amdulilah 3ala kulli 7aal. Juzz amma went well alhamdulilah and people managed to keep up but I think because we instantly moved on next surah without a rest so people may have got confused. I didnt make a sign in topic on purpose cos no one signed up so was waiting for at least one person to sign up. I'll make it and see if it makes a difference insha'Allah.

I think the hadeeth idea is good but just dont expect it to be as popular as you said and it might not get even like two or three but even if its as a side reference, that would be good. I think we should do hadeeth qudsi before the hadeeth collection of Imam Nawawi RH. But when you do get to Imam Nawawi, I got some beautiful recitation of the ahadeeth which we could use.

Islam FAQ, Im guessing thats writing up simple faqs about islam which we could do but in all honesty, I think we should leave that to the students of knowledge and the ulema insha'Allah and I thought a lot of those are available already but hey its their project and Im sure they have lots planned and I dont even know exactly what it entails so ya.

Alhamdulillah I just caught up and finished surah naba yesterday and so will move onto naziat insha'Allah. I came on couple days ago and saw the naziat sign up thread but I didn't want to be posting or anything though cos it would end up with me looking at the clock a few hours later and being like "damn..." (from spending too much time on ummah)

Maybe everyone else is the same...learning, but just not saying...?

I also understand the learning in secret thing...I'm trying not to let anyone know about me learning these surahs but 3 of my family members have already found out :torture:

About the ahadeeth of nawawi and the ahadeeth qudsi. I miiight know them, BUT theres like so much I dont know so it wont be hard to dig something up. I dont know Sahih Muslim by heart yet so we could do that lol. Or like I dont know loads of other stuff like every dua in fortress muslim [actually thats an idea, maybe we could leanr adiyaah, like one a week maybe] and loads of other stuff I dont know like like a billion other stuff. May Allah increase us all in knowledge that is beneficial ameen.

altho first part of ramadan i started i was doing one hadith qudsy per day and one dua from fortres book... bt now i for some reason aint still doing it :S :( insha allah after we start with the project n do it organised

well i mean ppl dnt tend to normally learn the book itself but the duas are common we know them thru daily life if u get me, like the catogories of wat is in it things like eating, sleeping, waking, during salah, at this and that which we insha allah use on daily basis and thereby know it. but as for me i did go thru mine wit a felt tip n tick ones i learned lol :embar: so was aiming 2 get all of it ticked off or minimum atleast one thing on every catogory or heading innit... but cool if we cd complete the full book, it will feel like an achievement then?

Technically we finished Naziaat on Saturday, Eid day for some. I think we should have a week break or so due to Eid and Ramadaan just finishing and everyone needs to get back into the swing of things cos seems like a few UQP members gone AWOL..

I voted for Surah Mulk as I obviously wasn't here if you have done it before, but I'm really not that fussed which one we do. As Anna has said, if other's desire to memorize a different Surah there is nothing stopping them from doing so.

Insha'Allah many will take part. It got a bit lonely with just the three of us during Surah an Naziat. Maybe others prefer to keep their progress between themselves and Allah subhana wa ta'aala.

Jazak'Allah khairan to Abu Muslimah, Anna and whoever else is working "behind the scenes" on this project. It is most beneficial and I'm sure you will be rewarded on Yawm al-Qiyamat.

like a couple of days? :S yes i know its really lame and b4 i was saying give us more ayahs :( but yeh basically am quite behind just did til 34 now only those 3 ayahs for that day and its about 5 or 4 days behind schedule i know... but on the sign in page i think we are all behind by about that amount unless they havent signed it. was supposed to catch up the past few days but some reason i just didnt n so now i will try to insha allah... but if u break it for 2 days we can insha allah all catch up and back on the schedule to finish together rather than late, which if u finish the surah 2moro as it should be, noone is gna finish it on time as far as i know.

al awal, hmm, regarding najm, once osmeone has hit the 59 ayah mark, then we shall finish off the surah insha'Allah, first one to finish gets an online cookie.

Secondly, regarding the next surah, as per usual, we shall do our bidah boting, but Surah Sajdah looks nice, and MOST likely to be the one that goes ahead insha'Allah. Its pretty good cos its the shortest of the earlier surahs as in, its surah 32, its the shortest both in that juzz and a few juzz after it. So not too long but mediokay alhamdulilah.

Anwyays, alhamdulilah Surah Najm is now compete, woo. What we'll do insha'Allah is give a rest for a few days for revision of the surah, a new topic will be made tomrorow to select the new surahs from a choice of surahs and this will be open for 5 days.

After 5 days, we shall start our new surah insha'Allah.

seriously it helps, once i learned surah Maryam i started to learn bigger surah and it got easy, for example i learnt Taha after it then saffat. you shoulnt be like "ohh its too big" cuz after it it will be easy to learn the other surahs

well we did noor but the people had a choice between noor and nabaa and mostly everyone picked nabaa.
we did all do yaseen together, that was medium sized

jazak'Allahu khair, on the topic of the surah and well not really discussing but something I wanted to say, in this surah, when I first heard this and read it ages back and now making the audio file again reminding me, the ayah when the mujrimoon will say: our Lord, we have heard and we have seen, put us back in this dunya so we may do good..

Not only does this ayah sound soo nice and Im addicted to reciting it but to reflect on it too, the criminals will be saying this but I wonder how many of us will also be feeling the same way. When we look back at how much time we wasted doing useless things and like we realise when its too late like oh man, I wish I did this and this. My point is, dont let it get to that point, let this ayah be a reminder to hasten to do good deeds, we dont know when we will die, could be next second, so we should take every opportunity to get some reward insha'Allah. And yea, this turned out to be a longer post than I intended, anwyays back to the lovely ayah.

Its so easy on the tongue subhan'Allah and when you reciting, anyone can make it sound nice, just the niceness of it is a sign in itself.

رَبَّنَا أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَارْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ

Just another reminder, guess what...surah Sajdah...has a sajdah. Verse 15, the one we are currently on, upon hearing this or reciting this verse we should make sajdah insha'Allah. But also to note, the sajdawh tilawah is not fard, so you dont HAVE to make sajdah EVERY SINGLE time you hear/recite this especially if you're memorising like youre probably going to recite 100 times in a row, however you should if you can because its a sunnah and Allah knows best.

Its on this ayah:

إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهَا خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُوا بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

And in case you don't know how to do it, you go down in sujood and say Allahu akbar as you go down. There is no tasleem and no saying Allahu akbar when you go back up except if you do it during the salah. You have to say subhana rabil a3la.. And if you can, say this dua in sujood:

Allaahumma laka sajadtu wa bika aamantu wa laka aslamtu, sajada wajhi lilladhi khalaqahu wa sawwarahu wa shaqqa sam’ahu wa basarahu bi hawlihi wa quwwatihi, tabaarak Allaahu ahsan al-khaaliqeen (O Allaah, unto You I have prostrated and in You I have believed, and unto You I have submitted. My face has prostrated before Him Who created it and fashioned it, and brought forth its faculties of hearing and seeing by His Might and Power. Blessed is Allaah, the Best of creators). I was thinking how about we have the Ummah Quran Project as a main header instead of withtin projects generally as this has expanded into a big project alhamdulilah and that way it will attract more attention and bi'ithnillah more participants in future.

And then have all the other projects in Ummah Projects and if they get big, then maybe have own section too because this section getting cluttered and I think it would be good for the UQP if it gets it own section

lol wrong place bro, I'll move this in a sec to right place insha'Allah. Why do some qaris change, well I think its just because they want to really or sometimes you just feel like a slight change of style.

Also, some especially like shuraim and shatery and the old skool qaris, they change because some recitations are really old whereas others are newer, peoples voice/style changes with time..

Ye, Abdul Basit's recitation is masha Allah really nice and slow. :inlove:
I really like his qiraah but sometimes it can be a bit slow. Here you can download three recitations of his. I haven't listened to any of it so I don't know exactly which one you should choose:
