why is the pronouncication of 'RAJALUN' 'rajawee' when im listening to the qiraat? ive heard it on three diff ones and im :scratch:

can move ahead :( someone please explain how i should be pronouncing it.

am following Ibrahim Jibreen qiraat :love:

Aye, it's prononuced as 'rajului'...I can't remember why :scratch:

Erm, dunno about in your qirat (or even if there's a difference on this issue) but I pronounce it "rajaluyn" with the "yn" nasalised...if that makes sense

lol was thinking of doing a recording but...nah :p

Its like that because you have a tanween followed by a yaa (I think its called leen or something...when و and ى are preceeded by ً or (dunno the key for sakin) you nasalise the sound and like...hard to explain kinda)

masha'Allah, so nice to see you're trying to perfect the recitation with the right tajweed.*thumbs up*

Basically the question, its a tajweed rule. Its called al idhgham but without bringing in the fancy names, basically the rule is..

When you see a NOON or a TANWEEN followed by YA, NUN, MIM, or WAW, you ignore the NUN or TANWEEN and join it with the next letter..

Ok, that probably makes no sense, so in the example:

رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى

The tanween on the لٌ is follow by a يَ so you join them so be
رَجُلي so transliterated, its RAJULUYYAS3A..


Hope that helps insha'Allah, if you need anything else explaining, then I'll try to explain..a sister actually suggested having some sort of tajweed help in this or explaining, but I'm not quite sure how thats gonna work..*thinking*

Akhee, your right about the nasaling and the actual rule but its not rajulayN, to say rajulayn would mean it is TWO men..the ayah is talking about one man who came..to add the n and say rajulayn changes the meaning..its rajulay-yas3a..I think you got it right and know what to do, just tranlisterated it wrong, blame the transliteration *sticky tongue out*

It does, Im not sure exactly how many times, but its there a few times, in fact its in the next ayah..اتَّبِعُوا مَن لاَّ يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُون

Notice the tanween [رً] followed by the و so it become AJRAW..

Ok insha'Allah people, surah Waqiah it is insha'Allah. The surah won with 7 votes, bearing in mind the vetos, it got 9 compared to Surah Mulks 5 votes..

insha'Allah the learning will begin from this Sunday, will give people 2 days warning to get ready and all that. And this surah operates a little different..instead of the usual 2 ayaatayn. See its 96 ayaats long, jazak'Allah for the type correction SH..if we do 2 a day, would take donkey years, longer than Yaseen, so sometimes depending on the length of the ayah and the connection it has with the last ayah, we might do 3 ayaats insha'Allah.

Dont worry the surah is really nice masha'Allah, makes everyone sound nice when they recite it, its free flowing, short versed and rhymy throughout.*smiles*

About the looby loo *tries not to laugh* and perfectpearl idea about revising the surahs..I think its a good idea masha'Allah but I dont quite know how we would implement it..ideas anyone?

I was thinking maybe go through it in the week break we have after each surah, like since we know it, for instance Yaseen has 83 verses, if we spead that over 7 days, thats like just over 12 verses and a bit each day, since we know it, we could post 12 verses and everyones revises them..or something like that.*thinking*

Ajeeb, I dont even know what a wpl file is..they're already .MP3 ukhtee, right click and save them..

Sorry didnt asnwer question yesterday, musta dozed off. Erm you are allowed to leanr as much as you want ukhtee, finish the surah if you want, just as long as you sign in the daily dosage given insha'Allah. This is so everyone is at apparent same stage and some people dont go zooming off while others feel disheartened..

Dont know if that made sense so basically, na'am you may learn more than required in a day, just sign on at the right days with the right ayaats..

If you wanna see an EVEN harder ayah, try learning the ayah of riba in surah baqarah, the longest ayah in the Quran. Bruv, its ONE PAGE LONG. ONE AYAH = ONE WHOLE PAGE. subhan'Allah.

Ruku? Thats when you go into the position of ruku isnt it? It differs teacher to teacher, I know a bro in Egypt who was doing 10 pages a week..thats more than one page a day..


And heres the ayah akhee, I've made it small so it doesnt stretch page but bear in mind this is ONE ayah:

Im no muhadeeth ukhtee, but what I think the hadeeth refers to here is grey hair and grey in the sense, worry and anxiety..This is becuase the other surahs mentioned in the hadeeth: Surah Hud, Surah Mursalat, Surah Takwir [aswell as Surah Waqiah]

All these surahs deal with yawmul qiyammah and the punishment of the hereafter..a matter that would make one go gray..

And Allah SWT knows best.

The tafsir is done by Ibn Kathir [RH] and it wasnt regarding the ayahs in the surah, was more a hadeeth which was related to the surah..and I didnt know Yusuf Ali did tafseer, thought he only translated..

Unless you're getting confused with translation and tafseer. Tafseer is the explanation of the Surah..while translation is..well you know what translation is.

The tafsir is done by Ibn Kathir [RH] and it wasnt regarding the ayahs in the surah, was more a hadeeth which was related to the surah..and I didnt know Yusuf Ali did tafseer, thought he only translated..

Unless you're getting confused with translation and tafseer. Tafseer is the explanation of the Surah..while translation is..well you know what translation is.

I find writting it with my own hands *the ayahs im learning* and then read them from my note book, then read the writting in the quraan and then on top of it hear the recitation on audio lol

masha'Allah, glad to hear you are interested. We havnt decided the next surah yet, insha'Allah we'll all decide nearer the time..might be something like Surah Qaf or Qalam or Hadeed or something..

If you want..you still have time to catch up, you dont have to be exact same place as everyone else. Right now, we're 27 verses in, thats 8ish days worth of memorising and cos we have a one week break after every surah, that will give you exactly enough time to be on level. Plus surah Waqiah is a nice quickting verses surah to learn, but yea, tis still up to you. Waiting for next surah works aswell.

Alhamdulilahi rabil Alaameen. Surah Waqiah is now complete and we even have some students who have finished it aready masha'Allah, so thats 2 surahs learnt from from the UQp, alhamdulilah, good good. Theres now a one week break for catching up and strenghtining the surah and revising and then we will pick next surah insha'Allah..

Well this time round, I was thinking of sticking to juzz tabarak and putting Surah Qalam back in there, Surah Jumuah or maybe even Surah Hadeed. Or mayb we can go super random in middle of nowhere and do Surah Sajdah [its pretty short in comparaision to all the surahs in that stage of the Quran, as its Surah number 32]

And then theres always te one surah that keeps popping back..Surah Mulk.

Surah Kahf is suran number 18 bro, its pretty long. Let us complete the smaller surahs insha'Allah and thenw e will move onto Surah Kahf. Theres still Surah Maryam and Surah Furqan before that..

Yay InshaAllah InshaAllah InshaAllah can u recommend like everyone to hear Kamal uddins recitation of it..Mashaallah im ni=ot just tryna big him up but Alhamdulillah I'v learnt most of it because of the like melody...well tbh surah Rahmaan is quite easily learn by mahy because of the oft repated verse..
