In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the All Knowing
Asalamualykum and welcome to the Ummah Quran Memorisation Section/Topic/Project thingymagig.
The Qur’an Memorization Project works as follows..we select one Surah at a time and then students commit themselves to the memorisation of the surah, and then together we memorize only two Ayat everyday [sometimes 3 depending on the length]
You have to register to participate on the group memorisation so we know who is commited and who just wants to learn an ayah and then do a runner. You may join in at anytime but you will have to catch up in your own time.
The arabic will be posted, the english translation and the audio by various qaaris insha'Allah every day at 12am. We have until 12am the following day to complete our memorisation, so thats 24 hours for the slow ones.
A "sign in" topic will be created and in this bi'ithnillah you have to sign in everyday to confirm you have memorised the ayaat given to you.
===========
The point of this project is to memorise Quran for the pleasure of Allah and is a step towards being a haafidh of the Quran for the sake of Allah. Na'am we know it is better to have a teacher but for many people it is not a reality, and they wont get off their prayer mats to go get one so this is another option we are giving.
Moreover, students will also learn some arabic as the english translation will have to be memorised aswell. The Quran is a noor [light] and a huda [guide] sent to all mankind, not just for reciting but for implementing aswell, so by knowing WHAT Allah swt is saying, we can bi'ithnillah implement it into our lives aswell.
So first and foremost, lets purify our intentions, and make this project we are embarking on for the Pleasure of Allah SWT alone.
Allah swt says in Surah Qamar over and over again: And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will remember?

Ah, forgot to mention, this isnt the discussion topic, a topic will be created for discussion insha'Allah..and I didnt finish *sticky tongue out*
Before we begin this project, heres a few thing we should adhere to and and some tips to follow insha'Allah ta'ala.
=========
Firstly and most importantly, we should have sincerety, ikhlas. The purification of ones intention and correcting ones desire is obligatory. It is likewise for making ones concern with and memorisation of the Quran for the sake of Allaah, the Sublime and Exalted, and for gaining success with His Paradise and obtaining His pleasure.
Allah swt says in Surah Zumar, verse 39: Say: I have been commanded that I worship Allaah making the Deen sincerely for Him.
Secondly, we have to pronounce the Quran correctly with tajweed, ideally we should get a teacher to teach us but the second best alternative is to listen to a qari with good tajweed and try to copy his pronounciation, links have been provided with every project.
Thirdly, we have to make it a regular constant action, and not get lazy and say we will do it another day. The deeds most beloved to Allah are the most frequent ones [hadeeth bukhari]. Stick to the limit and do not move on till you have perfected the ayaatayn.
Fourthly, we should recite in a melodious, sweet tone and not rush through it like its a race, Allah swt says in Surah Muzzamil, verse 4: and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.
Fifthly, know what you are reading, memorise the english translation also, reflect on them and then implement them into your life, ultimately that is the purpose of the Quran, for us to follow and live by its teachings.
Sixthly, there are so many benefits of reading the Quran. The Prophet peace be upon him said, "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.''' [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]. Also, if you have trouble reading the Quran, you get double the reward of the one who finds it easy, all the more reason to try. And not only that, but the hafidh of the Quran on the day of judgement, his parents are awarded with a crown, one jewel on the crown being better than the world and everytihng in it, subhan'Allah.
Finally, keep going back and revising and reading and revising and learning and understanding, the Quran is for life, not just for ramadhan.
O Allah make us of the People of the Qur'an, those who are your special ones, make the Quran easy for us, make us amongst those who the Quran will testify for us and say "Oh Allah, I stopped him from sleeping in the night because he used to read me so allow me to make interessesion for him" , purify our intentions so it is for you exclusively, make us amongst those whom the Quran beautifies and make us amongst the inhabitants of jaanatul firdaus. Ameen, thumma ameen ya rabal alameen.

Ah yea, and also, we have chosen Salah Bukhatir and Meshary Rasheed Efaasy as the qariayn we will be using. Both of their tajweed is top notch masha'Allah and they both go at a speed that is followable and not to slow but not too fast. Transliteration will also be added from now insha'Allah [if you want, copy and paste the posts/ayaatayn into word and print it]
