got some new budgies :D theyre colourful lol

but they dont really move about, what can i do to make them move?¿? cz im getting bored here :zzz:

we used to have budgies.. yellow one few green ones and blue ones.. nice.. never managed to tech them to talk.. apparently they can..

when let them out to fly was a mission trying to catch them..but they started dying while giving birth not sure why.. sold the reaming ones

i have a budgie and shes so mean i dunno whats up with her, she killed two of her male freinds, she wouldnt let them eat and they starved to death and they were so beautiful one lilac and the other sky blue and they sung loads and meanie is so boring and plain white and mean she lives with all my other birds now and they like stuff like millet ( makes them get a bit exciteable and sing a lot something in the grains i heard :S ) and i hang different sorts of perches, they love a bath stick an old margarine tub in with an inch of water and give them some greens to eat too

are they caged??? try having them on an open stand......
at first its hectic as they clim all over esp up the curtain rails or any high points....

i have an African grey (humza) and a ring neck(azraq).
had another one for soooo long was like a geniune janaazah when he died....his name was Hud Hud.....

they learn very fast by what you keep repeting to them.....
things like Bismillah, Assalaamualaikum, Ammi, Abba and names are learnt very quickly....

btw how old are they???

i think u have to cage a budgie ( they make quiet a mess around the house otherwise...) theyre not so bright, fly into windows and mirrors my granny had one when i was a little kid, she let it out and it flew straight into the mirror full pelt and laid on its back dead on the sideboard :rubeyes: poor thing. parrots are so cool though masha Allah so beautiful :up:

I grew up with budgies in the house and in the early years was able to teach them to talk but as I became older, I had budgies who couldn't talk but we whistled at each other sometimes;) . Apparently I'm not the only budgie fan, there are LOOOOOOOADS of budgie vids on youtube but tbh the talking ones are always the most entertaining. We have an aviary and it's ful of a variety of birds. Initially we did have budgies however they aren't particularly friendly birds when it comes to socialising with other species (of bird) and so we got rid of them because in our aviary we have loads of different birds all living together.

Basically the budgies were like 'this aviary aint big enough for the all of us' and the other birds are just so nice and didnt do anything and so the budgies went on a rampage- destorying other birds homes/nests, not letting them eat, bullying them etc.

On their own they're a nice bird to have- especially if its your first pet or something and ou have one budgie in a bird cage.

When my family first brought Neelu home (yep Neelu was our budgie:up: ), he was very quiet and unresponsive. It helps if you approach them with a handful of seed when they're hungry, or place a bowl of water for them to bathe in. I found that they're more chirpy and lively if their cage is in the living room or wherever there is the most activity as they do sometimes respond to the atmosphere in the room. It's not wise to put them in a quiet room like a bedroom where they'll get bored.
