Close the Distance


Your heartbeat is fast
Or is it my own
The pain disappears
It's in the way
Feelings too intense
The world spins
Yet I only see darkness


I open my eyes
And in that moment
Reality kicks me hard
My pain is now real
The world slows down
Life is bland


But my pulse is still racing
I'm waiting, awaiting
Patience forbears
This sentence is long
Time can't be skipped
Or quickened
But it still passes by


And at the end
This distance no more
I'll be with my Lord
Who is Glorified, Allah
If all goes well
My sentence sbeen served
My eyes can now open
To sweet Jannah


And if that day comes
As Allah knows best
I know my long tortured heart
Can finally rest
