Hajj vs Umrah

is it wrong to go umrah before you've done hajj? cos like hajj is the obligation right so shouldn't you do that before you do umrah... ? cos i really really really really wanna go umrah this summer inshaAllah but keep feelin guilty cos i think i should do hajj... and like what if i died without doin hajj and havin done umrah before isn't it a bit :torture:

Does your family have an intention to go hajj? So someone is able to take you?

But anyway, its not a 'vs' thing, theres no competition :torture: hajj hajj hajj :D

Yes i think you should do hajj and then umrah.

Me and my brother were gonna do umrah .. and he cancelled the umrah and said hes going to do hajj first because its an obligation ... which makes sense.

Umrah first worked great for me so when i go for hajj inshallah al be much more spirtually aware and responsible

which shows the Prophet s.a.w did umrah first as well


not too sure..but i think it may depend on if going on umrah will mean u wont go on hajj...i.e will it be becuase u gone umrah u cant aford hajj..or if u take holiday leave for umrah u wont have any left for hajj ...

it depends....

for example if u have the choice of going hajj this year or going umrah this year then u go to hajj and forget ur umrah cus ull do umrah at hajj anyway...

if u have the choice of doing both umrah and hajj this yeah then go to umrah enjoy the experience do taubah etc and prepare for hajj inshallah...

if u know that you not gonna be able to do hajj but you got the chance to do umrah then go to umrah man :smack: go and ask allah (swt) for forgiveness do ibadah cleanse ur sins and come back a better person and prepare for when you can inshallah go hajj....

alot of people like to go umra first to familiairse themselve before going hajj so they know the logisitcs and all and so they can get their hajj done properly by knowing the ins and out of the place

Hadith quoting our Nabi - saw - saying that if one meets the criteria for performing haj but does not do so and dies, I would not care if he is raised as a jew or a christian on the day of judgement...un-quote.

This is an outright condemnation of those who are reluctant to perform Haj when they have both the ability and the mean for doing so.

The criteria are:
Be mentally sane; not in any debt; an adult; has the mean to meet the cost of the journey; has the mean to leave sufficient financial support for dependants left at home while away on haj; and for a woman..all the above plus a mahram to accompany her on haj.

Umra is not obligatory. Haj is. You perform Umra as part of your haj of the first two kinds ie, Haj Tamattu and Haj Qiran.

So, brothers and sisters, if you meet the criteria, as above, prepare to perform haj as no one knows when their death will come.

There are three types of Hajj, one of them includes doing 'Umrah then Hajj.

There is no visa problem to perform haj. It will depend on who you select to go with as a group tour though because of their allocated number of visas.

You can make as many trips as you like for your umra and visa will be issued and also visa for haj will be issued.
