Tayyibun Institute Courses (Part-time- Class based)
Arabic Language, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Tajweed, Qur'an Studies

(May- August 2007)

• Arabic Language Level 1 TEACHING MEDIUM: Arabic & English
For this course we expect all students to already be able to read Arabic alphabet and sentences, this is a comprehensive and popular course for the learning of the traditional and Qur’anic Arabic, originally devised and taught at the renowned Madinah Islamic University (KSA). This course shall enable students to become competent in their use of the Arabic Language and to participate and benefit from scholarly pursuits such as Qur’anic exegesis, Hadith, Fiqh, Seerah and History, classical and modern Arabic literature.

Students will learn vocabulary, memorise some Qur'anic ayats (verses) and short Ahadith. In addition to reading, writing and speaking drills, students will be introduced to basic grammar by combining modern Arabic vocabulary with Islamic terminology used in the Qur’an and Sunnah. In this course students are expected to complete Madinah Book 1 in addition to selected sections of Al Kitaab Al Assasi.

Our aim in this course is to help you attain the basic skills and knowledge giving you the ability to understand words and phrases starting you off on the journey to acquire and understand hundreds of Qur’anic verses, Hadith material, Arabic parables and poetry.

• Arabic Language Level 2 TEACHING MEDIUM: Primarily Arabic
This level is for students who have completed level 1 or equivalent, are able to understand basic Arabic instruction and are familiar with a basic level of Arabic grammar. Students will be required to memorise a set number of vocabulary, verbs, Ahadith, Qur'anic ayats, du'as and attempt basic Arabic-English, English-Arabic translation. A major ingredient of this level is the introduction of Nahu (grammar: the study of the language and the various rules governing the words as they appear in a sentence) and Sarf (morphology: dealing with the structure and formation of words e.g. the changing of the 'asl (root word) to many different examples in order to find meanings that would not otherwise be achieved). A range of texts will be used in this level, including Madinah Book 2 and Al-'Arabiya Bayna Yadayk.

• Aqeedah Usool ath-Thalaathah (The Three Fundamentals)
This course is a small treatise in the fundamentals of tawheed and 'aqeedah focusing on the text authored by Shaykh ul Islaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab (d.1206h) called Usool ath Thalaathah (The three fundamentals).

Usool ath-Thalaathah covers 3 aspects that the religion revolves around:

1. Knowledge of Allah by his names and attributes.
2. Knowledge of the Prophet (saw).
3. Knowledge of the religion.

These are the three issues that one will be asked about his grave, and thus it is vital that every believer is acquainted with the above knowledge.

• Fiqh Manhaj as-Saalikeen (Islamic Jurisprudence)
This course will be primarily focusing on the work Manhaj as-Saalikeen (Path of the Wayfarer) by Shaykh Abdur Rahman ibn Naasir as-Sa'adi (d.1376h)
This is a basic text in fiqh (jurisprudence) which has been praised by many scholars such as Shaykh Ibn Jibreen, Shaykh ibn 'Aqeel and Shaykh 'Abdullah bin 'Abdur-Rahman al Bassaam. This text serves as an introduction to fiqh and will equip each student to be prepared to study more detailed texts.

This course will aim to cover the fiqh of tahaarah (purification) and salaah (prayer) in some detail.

• First Step Begginers to Qur'an
This course is for those students who wish to take their first steps into learning to read and write the Arabic script of the Qur’an starting from the Alphabet with its (Makhraj) correct pronunciation.

In this course we ensure you’ll receive close attention and be taught by an expert teacher who with special interpersonal and communication skills will help you step by step. Our aim in this course is to help you break away those barriers that exist within, in order to open up to the students vast oceans of knowledge.

• Tajweed ul Qur’an Level 1
This course is a basic course to learning how to recite Qur’an in its proper articulation and rules using tajweed and tarteel (combining theory and practice). Students will be expected to memorise selected Surahs with the correct rulings with time to leave them towards the end of the course having sound recitation of these verses in preparation for the next level. Our aim in this course is to help students improve there recitation of the Qur’an in a fluent manner practically applying and progressing with the rules learnt in class.

• Tajweed ul Qur’an Level 2
This course will help students improve their recitation by applying the already learned rules through practicing on selected Surahs and then memorising with the correct rulings.

Aaaaw so sorry to hear that. Have you not even got some loose change? :(

1. The scholars back in the days did not have teachers to pay who rely on the income to feed their partner, little babies and children at home. :1popcorn:
2. Also they don't have a newly furnished Tayyibun Institute Islamic centre being set up in London with study areas, computers with latest Islamic software, and library with classical books of knowledge, etc. for them which alhamdulillah all Tayyibun Institute students will have- no charge!
3. Plus they did not have all the expenses of running inc. the rent, bills, etc. no exess profits are kept as the money is plowed back to the Muslim community- in effect we're regenerating and investing for our future.
4. All our volunteers do so freely- its just the expenses that need to be paid otherwise even all the course would be totally free for all if we could. :o
5. Plus we hold free events for the community when we can with learned scholars, see events section on www.tayyibun.com (http://www.tayyibun.com)

Assalamualaikum bruvas and sisters

insha allah evry 1 is in the best of health and imaan.......im SO excited Tayyibun are registering early may for their new courses.

as before they are doing Tajweed and Arabic Lang' but in addition this time round they are also doing Aqeedah and Fiqh. existing students will insha allah progress on to next level but becoz they have a new venue this time, new teachers they are doing many more classes too so insha allah unlike last time nobody will be turned away.

if i cud i wud post this message under evry section becoz i want all of u to benefit from it, truly in my opinion they are really gud. i started in Jan wiv no arabic and very limited tajweed and altho im no were near mastering anything yet alhamdulilah i feel i've cum along bares and just to be in that environment its so refreshing and uplifiting. i forgot how much fun it is to learn.

i cant speak for the bruvas but becoz i do a few classes and have friends in other classes we only have the highest of praises for our ustadhas.

i know im really going on now and honestly theres no kinda comission ting going on ere or anyfin like that but its just i know how much evry wants to learn but sumtimes its really hard to find a suitable course, suitable location and all that. As for the prices people who are unemployed get a slight reduction and as for the employed people we have no excuse a 4 month course costs less than a decent outfit.

so please please look into it i have dozens of leaflets er....not sure how i can get to u lot tho? ? but u can check out the website insha allah its updated.

Where do they teach? In a uni or in a building?

Whats the class environment like?

Obviously its segregated and by segregated we talking men and women not in same room - right?

What about how you study? Do you sit on the floor or on tables anc chairs. Is there a jokey/back-chatty attitude to the teacher or a strict silence or something else?

Let us know please.

We learn in Whitechapel and they have their own building called Tayyibun Institute. The new address is 32 New Road (off Whitechapel Road), London E1 2AX.

Segregation Al Hamdulillah! they have different days for brothers and different days for females. The female classes are taught by a well organised highly qualified female teacher and visa versa. And they also have a segregation policy in the contract which at the beginning on registartion we had to read and sign. It makes us sisters very cmfortable and safe. May Allah reward Tayyibun for their efforts.

I am very pleased with the teachers, new venue, structure of the course and the way they 'Tayyibun' treat us.

In our old classes the Qur'an class was floor based with nice seats for us to rest our back on and the Arabic classes have uni style chairs with side tables (Tablets). In the new classes I think they will only do the tablet table chairs not sure yet but will find out on our end of term students gathering. By the way I preffer the floor based because it helpd to focus more on the lessons.

Nobody talks in the classes but we do in the reception, we get to meet lots of new people from other classes e.t.c, its very nice.

My cousin brother attends the brothers classes and i heard similar things about their side too.

What more can i say may Allah reward them and help grow Tayyibun bigger Inshaa Allah. I can see now why most of the Shaykhs and Ustadhs, brothers and sisters recomends and supports them. :inlove:

:inlove:

well said masha'Allah but just want to add that they teach at the centre when you enrol for the bigger classes, they also have the option of 1-2-1 teaching, not sure about brothers but for sisters they do and the teacher usually comes and teaches you, at a venue of your choice which is suitable for the teacher

Na'am they have a 1-2-1 private tuition service where Ustadahs do home/ personal visits at the venue of students such as Muslimahs that are mothers/ house wives, etc. that wish to learn but at a safe segregated location.

I dont think seats will be much of a problem cause theyve got a new place which is completely theirs, costing a fortune , inshaAllah registration goes well.. Ill tell him not to worry so much!

Maybe (inshaAllah) the classes are soo full and he starts extra sessions, as the timetable isnt suitable for everyone (me).

Also most people have exams, but dont worry about it too much. All you have to do is call them up and raise the awareness and im sure he'll sort something out. Ive already told him, hes abit worried too because the registrations are during exam periods. Dont Bail Out!

Ameeen - may Allah make Tayyibun a success

As a current student i have inside information on this from a slip that went around in our last class:

Tayyibun Institute are offering more seats this upcoming registration so no one will be rejected Inshaa Allah.
But still they have advised to try and attend the early registration dates. :coolbro: :hidban:

We just recently had our exams at Tayyibun its very structured and organised. I will not be suprised if they have a massive turnout like when i went to register last term. May Allah reward them.

And for the students who are in exam periods at Uni, college e.t.c, register too because your exams are running for another week or two untill the course starts, and after exams you will be free for a long time, use your time wisely and learn deeny knowledge.

THIS IS MY LAST POST.

LAST WORDS AGAIN I ADVISE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO JOIN THE COURSES AND NOT TO MISS OUT.

Sorry to hear that Ukthy, the demand for places have been overwhelming masha'allah on all the courses and has still not subsided! In this is a beautiful sign for our community especially young brothers and sisters like yourself so eager to learn and benefit and better themselves masha'allah- this gives much hope for us as our youth are learning and are our future.

Na'am where possible several extra classes other than initially planned have been arranged and teachers advised to cater and not turn away any brother or sister willing to learn.

Insha'allah the Institute brothers will try and arrange another 'First Step to Qur'an' class for our sisters and shall let you know if that can be arranged.

Jezak'illah my sister for making your efforts- so sorry to hear you were too late but insha'allah another sisters only class will be arranged for your course choice.
