Ok its getting a bit boring that so many people are bringing up threads about marrying someone who isnt a virgin, boo hoo if you cant get over their past dont marry them simple.
Lets talk about murder. :eek: muhaha!
Would you ever marry someone who has killed before? Like either they were part of a gang and they were so faaaaar from the deen they killed someone or some people.
Or if someone was part of some company where they were hired to kill someone. But after coming into islam (not revert, someone who was muslim but not practising, cos its almost the same anyways) they left the job.
Take into consideration that if the person had killed out of angry, not cooking the eggs properly might result in you being fried yourself. :p joke joke!
No seriously take into consideration that a man killed 99 people and when he went to this old man the following happened:
At last the killer told the old man that he had killed ninety-nine people but that he was sorry for what he had done and wondered whether Allah would forgive him.
The old man looked at him, scratched his head and shook it slowly and said "No."
Satan rubbed his hands together, he was so pleased -- and so the old man became the killer's hundredth victim!
Now, the man thought he would try again, so he found another worshiper of Allah, but this time the worshiper was wiser and more knowledgeable.
After the man had told him what he had done he asked if there was a chance that Allah would accept his repentance. The second worshiper said: "Yes, but first you must really believe that there is no god except Allah."
They talked for a while and what the worshiper of Allah told him made a lot of sense, so the killer told him that, yes, he really did believe.
The worshiper was delighted and told him: "Now that you have believed, you must not stay in that wicked city a moment longer. You must leave right away for the next city where you will find good people worshiping Allah."
The man was very happy to hear this and set off straight away for the city of good people. Satan stamped his feet in anger -- he was furious!!
The man had only gone a few miles when suddenly he died. Both the angels of Paradise and Hell came to take away his soul. They didn't know what to do -- was he to go to Hell or was he to go to Paradise?
They discussed the matter between them. The angels of Hell told the angels of Paradise that because the man had never done a good deed in all his life they thought they should take charge of his soul.
But, the angels of Paradise told the angels of Hell that the man had repented and was in fact on his way to the city where they worshiped Allah.
The angels just could not decide who should take him. Did he belong to the angels of Hell or to the angels of Paradise?
Just then, an angel who had taken the appearance of a human arrived so the angels asked him to decided for them.
The new arrival thought for a minute, then, he advised them to measure the distance between the man's body and the two cities.
He told them that if his body lay nearer to the wicked city, then he belonged to the angels of Hell. On the other hand, if he belonged to the angels of Paradise, his body would be nearer to the city of good people.
The angels went about their business and measured the two distances and found the man's body lay nearer to the city of the good people by just the span of a hand! So, the angels knew that the man had been forgiven, and so the angels of Paradise took his soul gently away.

You know, this whole virginity/ race/color/culture stuff actually got me to thinking about my own preferences in men and what kind if any would I absoluty not marry. Then I started thinking about brothers in the pen or who had been in the pen. Is it fair for me to discriminate against them. Honestly, they really scare me :crying: even if they weren't murderers or something awful, the things they have to deal with in the pen makes them very harsh, rigid and not very nice :(

There are some things (such as murder or rape), that you dont have to be a muslim or a practising muslim for you to know that it is wrong. It REALLY goes against a person's natural fitrah.
It depends on why the brother killed, if he was a contract killer or part of a gang then HELL NO! But if it was an accident or in Jihad or to protect the honour of a person eg woman then maybe.

I don't think I could marry a lass that had poisoned someone... but if she was a chainsaw or axe murderer I could probably deal with it.

I've never told anyone this before because i thought people will judge be because i am suppose to be a niqaabi and i call myself salafi.
I thought my past is my past and it should be left there, but subhanaAllah not many muslims think like this and i feel that any potential hubbie will judge and i will never get married :(

well yeah... but just stating why its not common to come accross this situation. also by the time he comes out of prison he may be very old, and not hav life experience of life outside in the real world? maybe he cnt support a family now because he only knows the way of prison?
guess it depends person 2 person...
some might kill when they are young, they can go 2 juvenile detention.. they would be out while they still have alot of life left 2 live insha allah and if they repented while in prison and changed their ways, became good in character then its not a problm 2 marry them
