I long to see your face in my dreams,
I close my eyes and my heart pleads,
To be blessed with a vision of truth,
A perfect mirror in which to see,
My own imperfect reality.

A droplet of knowledge heightens thirst.
Like the glimpse of a jewel catching my eye,
Making me want to stop and stare,
Touch, hold, take for my own that diamond.
Precious and pure; untarnished,
And reflecting light, so was your essence,
The beauty of your life.

A perfect form,
A scent pure perfume,
A smile of gleaming gems,
A face that lit up darkened rooms,
A character that made each companion,
Feel as though he was loved best.

Mercy embodied in a man,
With warmth that never left,
And a legacy that extends beyond worlds,
In hearts it resides yet.

Each word you spoke rings through time,
Calling us like a clear bell.
I long to hear the sound myself,
In wakefulness or sleep,
I wait at night for a vision to come,
To have an image that I can keep.

Your words are comfort and guidance,
Yet still I wish for us to meet,
In this lifetime as well as the next,
Oh Lord give me a true vision,
Of your beloved as I sleep.

Lol, rhyming is good, but it is not the only way there is to give a poem rhythm and flow. :)

Very nice poem.

Ibn Khattab an analysis of Poem:
Octave meters, irregular rhyming scheme.
Themes of compassion, obedience, 'religious'ness, time.
Alliteration, metaphors, similie, enjambament (although there was a , it doesnt look like it :p)

It doesnt have to rhyme to be a good poem.

You forgot to say the scale. (how many syllables per line? do they alternate? Is it different each stanza?) If I was your teacher, I'd give you an I for incomplete :p

An expression of love for the beloved rasool,
Isn't here to be analysed or follow anyones rules,
If one doesn't see the soul in the words,
They haven't connected to it or truly heard.
