I found myself doing dhikr in my sleep this morning. I recited subhanallah 33 times alhumdulillah 33 times and then woke up realising what I was saying. Semi-consciously I completed dhikr with Allahu Abkar 34 times.

I've also prayed namaz in my sleep. Is there anything wrong with doing dhikr during sleep? Is it unusual? Is it OK to disclose it like I have done?

mashallah this usually happens when the person is very accustomed to keeping their tongue occupied with remembrance of Allah very frequently

people often read an ayah or supplication inadvertantly when they turn over in their sleep, when their sleep is on the verge of breaking or waking up suddenly and inshallah it a sign of taqwa

I read in a Hadith book tht we have to recite it like tht.. Not Allahu Akbar 34 times, I used to do tht ..

Subhaan Allah :)

There's nothing wrong with disclosing goodness from dreams - as the Prophet (saw) has said : Tell others if you see good in your dreams, but keep silent the bad (and spit three times over your left shoulder if you do experience something bad, as that particular dream is from Shaytaan) - my words.

And re. saying Allah hu Akbar 33 times, I'm sure there's a Hadith where it says you can say it 34 times ?

Jazakallahu khayr. I've not read that hadith, but after each fardh salaat I recite the above with Allahu akbar 34 times and then Ayat al-Qursi once.

If you find the link, can you post it here insha'Allah.

I cant believe it................ why? something similar happened to me last night.
I am not that particular about 5 prayers ( atleast not yet) But I often say something out loud as if awoken from a dream......but last nite, somewords woke me up and those were my own word. I heard myself saying the takbir ( not in a loud manner ) and then I was awake and still laying down on the bed. I then completed the whole adhan as if it was automatic. Honestly I was afraid. Is this normal? I mean I do try to remember God as much as I can.
I dont blame you if u find this very weird & crazy. I just dont have an explanation for this. Its even weird that i am actually telling pelple about it.
maybe its a sign........... straighten up!!!

WSalam

MashaAllah, you should be happy for that. Do you recite Allah Tallah's name at all times?

wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh if you were asleep, then how do u know that u prayed and completed the dhikr ... was someone there watching this and counting for u, maybe u were dreaming, anyway it doesnt mean anything Islamically Alhamdulillah, the pen has been lifted for the one who is asleep, So the only reward is for doing this when u are fully awake. Its not even permissible to pray when u are extremely tired, as u will not have any concentration in ur salat.
