View Full Version : Winning Hearts & Minds: Yusuf Estes @ LMC (14/04/07)
Winning Hearts & Minds
by Shaykh Yussf Estes (USA)
Date: Saturday 14th April 2007
Time: 6.30 pm (after Salatul Asr)
Venue: London Muslim Centre, 1st Floor, 46-80 Whitechapel Road,
London, E1 1JQ
The message of Islam has a universal appeal and it is revealed as guidance for all mankind to organise lives to live in peace, harmony, equity, justice and in the service of God. Those of us who have accepted Islam as our way of life have a responsibility on our shoulders to mould our lives in accordance to the true practices of Islam and share its beautiful message to those around us. In doing so, we need to be mindful of our conduct, to be respectful, polite and humble. We must remember our aim is to win hearts and mind not arguments.
In the Qur'an, Allah (swt) states, "If you had been severe and harsh-hearted they would have run away from you" (3:159). In the famous story of Prophets Musa and Harun (pbut) in conveying their da'wah, Allah (swt) instructed them, "Both of you go to Fir'awn for without a doubt he has transgressed, and speak to him with kind and gentle words" (20:43-44). In the life of Muhammad (pbuh) there are examples after examples of his
kindness, gentleness and humility towards people.

:hidban: Tomorrow! :hidban:
Did anyone go this?
Alhumdulillah! It was so good! :D and just I was getting into it, it was over :crying:
Shame he had to cut it so short due to all the crying babies as ever! :smack:
No offenece to the mothers out there (as obvioulsly it is beyond your control) but if your baby cries in a talk which is or was meant to be broacast to thousands, you should really take them outside of the hall. :o
I don't think he'll be coming back to LMC again! :(
