Wa Alaikum Salam WR WB.
I hope the following may help.
Airline ticket on Saudi Air between London and Jedda return is: £509 from their General Sales Agent. Your travel agent can put as much as £25 for his margin.
The process to obtain your visa from the system to saudi consulate can be anything between £38 (which is what my rate is) to £80.
The internal transportation for 1 person upto 3 person in a taxi to cover Jedda-Makka-Madina-Jedda is £200. So if there are 3 of you the rate is down to £66 per person.
Meal cost what you eat there and from where. A typical Kentucky packet will cost £4 as an indicator whereas the lunch and dinner combined at a Pakistani restaurant (Karahi, Daal, Parotha) for one person may cost £4 !!!!
As for accommodation, the price depends on the standard of the hotel you want.
A reasonable room in a building about 300 meters away may cost £10 per person or for two or three sharing together. Dar Tawhid Intercont in Makkah will cost you £120 per night if you are lucky to get a room and that's a single bed room !!!!!!!

You want to know a good umra agent? Its got to be me !!! Regret I stopped offering packages because I am unable to guarantee you the full value of the package because of the commercialised nature of contractors over there who often mislead. Sadly, same goes for 90% of agents in this country who deliberately mislead and 2 agents, I found on this ummah.com been advertising their package at an unbelievable price when they themself know that the system has not even opened yet. Such are our muslim brothers.
Here are some agents who are quite genuine:
1. Rainbow Travels - London. 07956 188677
2. Al Hidaya - Birmingham - very expensive but very good too.
3. Zahid Travels - Blackburn.
4. Afta Tours - Hayes.
5. Sharif Enterprise - Redditch, Midlands.
6. Khadim-al-Hujjaj, Blackburn. 01254 699618.He is currently away for a week.
7. Khidmah Travels-London. 079 62129 069
8. Crown Travels-Bradford.
9. M A Travels-Newcastle u Tyne

None of the above agents are related to me. I do have dealings with some of them so they know me and you can mention my name to them.
My own company is "Al Barakah Haj" www.haj-umra.co.uk

I trust this helps.

I fully endorse this opinion that Al Hidayah are good and will deliver what they promise, albeit, within their reasonable mean because no one can overcome the Saudi interventions.

There are other equally good operators in UK you may wish to try out and I have provided the list before.

Salaam to everyone.

Inshallah we too are going to Umrah in July and bought our flight last week.

Saudi do direct flight from Manchester to Jeddah (via genova i think - but no need to leave the plane) - this starts in June

We bought our ticket from yourtravelshop.com in Bolton (many people know them - Bashir and Usman Chokawala).

Anyways paid £540 for Adults and £425 for children. Picked the tickets up today and ulhamdolillah all looks great.

Salaam

Chokhawala, also known as Chasmawala and now operating as yourtravelshop are experienced now especially Osman and Nizam having been trained by Bashir Saheb who, I understand, has taken the back seat now.

Saudi Airline is indeed commencing flights from Manchester soon InshaAllah, which makes life easier for hujjajs up north in the countryside.

Sallam,

Does anyone know how much a taxi from:

1. Makkah to Medinah cost

2. Medinah to Jeddah cost

DEPENDS ON TYPE OF CAR.

1. SR450 for a Camry; SR700 for a Toyota Hi-Ace and SR900 for a GMC.

2. Same as above.

3. Jeddah to Makkah may be SR140; SR 300 and SR450.
The above are one way.

It is cheaper to make agreement to have a round trip with the driver but only pay at each stages otherwise you will never see him again !!!!

Finally, your umra agent, in UK, is "obliged by the contract" to organise at least one way transfer to any destination from Jedda when you arrive from your departure country. It may be slightly higher due to the fact that there is commission involved for him here and his contractor over there.
