There is a difference of opinion amongst muslims on what is sufficient for da'wah. By this i mean, are the actions of a mu'min a means of da'wah? Is the knowledge of Isam alone enough? Is having da'wah qualifications enough?
Doesnt the Mu'mins character have any affect on the non-muslim? Would it be wrong to say that a Mu'mins actions could prove to be the reason for why a non-muslim would take an interest in Islam? What do you think?

i think the one who has ilm (islamic knowledge) and Ikhlas will be given good character, too, by Allaah.

Sister I don't think its a simple question like that. Each does dawa according to his capability. Some people have plentiful knowledge and also a good character, and they can do dawa either by example or by actively engaging others, or by answering questions when they are approached. Some people have not got as much knowledge as others, yet they have good character and actions and this is the fruit of knowledge anyway, so still according to their capabilities they can and should do the dawa.
Some people have actual qualifications in this field because they studied it and they want to specialise in dawa. Normally these are the people who are very active in it, and they produce dawa materials and do alot of talks for this purpose, but they should of course in addition to this be doing a dawa by their example as we all should.
As for those with knowledge but no character, this is the unfortunate catogory from how i see it. because they have this knowledge but they have not taken use from it or benefitted themselves with it :S but insha allah have to try 2 implement it also in their own life aswell as sharing it with others, because surely people dont take notice when people are preaching at them yet they do not demonstrate a good character. Unfortunately this problem is sometimes too widespread and a lot of us suffer from it :S
