Assalamo Alaikum WR WB.
Here is the information for your visa:
1. You must be over 40 years of age to qualify for an umra visa.
2. You will not get your visa from Egypt because you are not a national of
Egypt. You will have to apply from UK through a licensed agent.
3. No one in UK, or for that matter anywhere in the world, has got a license
yet. Earliest possible date is around 15 April for the process to start.
4. Therefore, earliest you can travel is end of April.
5. It is illegal to post your passport from one country to another.
6. Therefore, you have to be here in UK in person.
7. Seek out a genuine licensed umra agent (not easy I can tell you)
8. Agree a package with the agent. Give a "refundable" deposit.
9. Hand over your passport details - not your passport - and 2 photos.
10. Once the agent has obtained a "MOFA" from Saudi Arabia, he will need
your passport and, probably the money.
11. The agent will submit your passport to Saudi Consulate for visa. This is
done on Mondays and Tuesdays only.
12. Embassy will, if they issue the visa, return the passport on Thursdays
and Fridays only.
13. Get a written detail of your trip from this agent with the named hotels and
confirmation of the rooms reserved in those hotels. The detail also
include all your internal transfers if that is agreed by you and the agent.
14. Get the name of the Umra company in Saudi Arabia that this agent is
a contractor to so that you know the "Mandoob" or representative who
will meet you at Jedda airport.
15. This mandoob will keep your airline tickets for international travel and
return your passport to you after an initial check and record.
16. This mandoob will then put you on the waiting transport to your next
destination, Makkah or Madinah.
17. Your airline re-confirmation MUST be done by this agent in Jeddah.
18. If the stated hotels is not given to you and an inferior standard is offered
it is up to you whether to accept. You have the right to demand a
hotel of similar standard.
19. If there is a breach by your agent, go straight to the Ministry of Haj
office and lodge a complaint. They will act immediately on your behalf.
20. No agent takes responsibility for your travel insurance or health.
21. It is prudent that you take a travel insurance although it is technically
Haram. This is because of the cost involved for treatment, replacement
of your personal luggage and, burial or transport of the body etc.
InshaAllah, this is the information you need. Contact me if you require help with choosing a genuine agent in UK. Believe me I am not in their "CUT" as most of them don't even know me.

Walykum Salam akhee,
Jazak'Allah hu khair for all your help akhee, much appreciated but you GOTTA be kidding me right? Over 40 to go Umrah, you telling me I gotta wait more than 20 years just to perform umrah?
Akhee, seems like a proper mission man, in that time I could have built my own helicopter and flown straight to makkah myself and still have time to sell miswaks on the side corner.
Is there anything easier, and what do I do if Im a youth, no Umrah for me?

This is the way the Saudis intend to keep out illegal entrants into their country because they had abused the immigration laws by taking Umra visas and disappearing to work illegally.
I take no sides. I make Du'a that Allah-SWT-Makes the way for any muslim from anywhere in the world to visit His House and perform the Tawaaf..Aameen.

Akhi ismail,I read in another thread the age limit ban has been lifted, can you confirm?
And also, you saying its impossible for me to go from here cos you said its illegal to post passport and thats what I have to do. *scratch* I know a few brothers who went from here but I didnt get to ask how they did the visa and I dont have their contact.
I cant go back and do it in person, so if I want to get a visa, travel from Egypt to Saudi, how would I do it?

Is it only 40 if you go from Egypt?
Because several of our friends have been including a 27yr old and 33yr old so it isn't an age limit of 40 if travelling from the UK!

1. Mailing Passports by Post.
This is illegal period. If you declare that the envelope contains a passport no courier will touch it. And sending the passport through a courier is the only reliable and quick way.
This is not to say that people are deterred from using this method and it could well be that your friends may have deployed this tactic to acquire their visas.
However, no one from outside the GCC countries have been issued Umra Visas yet. Therefore, if your friends have gone to Saudi Arabia, they are there on a different type of visa which can be issued from Egypt to non-Egypt nationals.
2. Dropping of the Age limit.
This was sneaked in by the ministry of haj on the rest of the world this year. Last year it covered Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Jordan, Syria and Sri Lanka. This ban is still in place. However, the ban on under 40 from other countries appears to have been relaxed.
I will try to obtain confirmation on this and come back to you all InshaAllah.
To our brother in Egypt, I suggest you defer your intention to perform Umra by making supplication to Allah to make that possible whenever He Likes. Performing Umra is encouraged but not obligatory in our Deen. Try to do your Haj if you can because that is not only obligatory (if you meet the conditions) but that Haj, in this day and age, is difficult for older people so perform it as soon as you can.
There is still no movement in the Visa for Umra despite a few licensed agent having been issued their login and password. This is due to the system not being configured in Saudi Arabia by ministry of haj.

In answer to Al Irhaab and Unique Muslimah, just because a courier firm takes your document even knowing that it contains a passport does not make this tranmission and transaction legal.
If I give you an example of performing Salah without making the ablution, who is going to know and who is going to stop you? Performing salah without ablution does not discharge you from having complied with the process of performing salah.
And performing Umra is not obligatory either. So why do you want to break the law? Do you think Allah Will Love you for having arrived at His House using every means available? Does the end justify the means? Abiding by the rules of the nation we dwell in is part of a muslim's responsibility as per our Hadith.
Of course there are many umra agents who will take your business without asking any questions in the same way as Unique muslimah received the passport through the post. I am talking about sending passports overseas.
Abu Muslim Akhi,
You need to be in Misr for 6 months before you can apply for a visa to Saudi, just go to the Saudi Emabassi. They give Free books as well i hear :)
And then catch a boat and it will get you there in 3 days lols..
And Job is a good one... Glad we sorted that out..

I am not going to enter into arguments with any member of this forum about couriers accepting your documents and not to abide by the laws of the country of your residence.
I am giving out sincere advise and it is up to you to take or leave it.
Sending passports through post/couriers overseas is illegal, check it out with home office.
In response to the suggestion made that you have to stay in Egypt for 6 months and go to saudi embassy, get visa and booklets and sail across......very naive indeed and again giving false hope/expectations and misleading fellow muslims.
The law on Umra Visit is simple. Get your visa from those who are licensed by ministry of haj and from the country where you reside permanently or are a citizen of that country. The saudi consulate will simply show you the door if you by-pass this requirement and turn up to sek umra visa directly in person.

Reply for Sapphire Blue..No no it was not taken as an insult at all. Is it my use of the smiley that made you think that way? I am too old now and have had far far far worst things thrown at me to react in a knee jerk way. So, relax.
To brother Sajid....and to every member on the forum...information from me, posted on this forum, are th etruth and given in absolute sincerety as received from my own direct sources in Saudi Arabia dn UK.
The age restriction appears to be dropped although no official circular was issue when they extended the ban worldwide and no circular issued for its relaxation.
Anyone below 40 wishing to go, all that will happen is that your agent will try. If your data is accepted by the saudi agent called SEJEL, you're through. If not, try again when you hit 40.

Dear brother Sajid and sister Unique Muslimah,
The ban on 40 and under apply to MALEs only and was implemented last Umra season to cover mutamirs from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Egypt, Yemen, Sudan etc.
This year, without actually issuing a fresh circular, the MoH (ministry of haj that is) let it be known that the ban is now extended worldwide.
The exception to this restriction is when the 40 year, or under, male accompanies women relatives for whom he is a MEHRIM. Women cannot travel on their own to perform Umra/haj without a MEHRIM unless going in an exclusive women group which is led by a MALE group leader. This is defined as "USBAT UN NISA". In this case the group leader assumes responsibility as a MEHRIM in general and must produce letters of no objection from relatives of these women to the Saudi Consulate before visa can be placed in their passports.
At this moment and time, not even the saudi consulate know whether the ban is in place for UK. Our contractors, in Saudi Arabia, has advised that the data should be entered into the SEJEL system for individual males 40 or under. If the data is accepted then the visa WILL be issued.
That is where we are currently.
Licensed agents, only about four or five at the moment, will accept your passports and upload the data. It is upto them whether they charge you for this work in case the application is rejected. Rejection costs nothing except the effort of the agent.
However, if your data is loaded and accepted then a payment of SR650 is deducted immediately from the agent's account. Should you not proceed thereafter will still mean a payment to the agent of this sum and he will recover that sum (£96) from you if he is insistent or at least £45 if he is NOT insistent.
If I were to act as your agent, the cost would be £38 as of this moment but it may go up once the banks in UK get wise to this transaction being done for free of bank charges.
One brother asked me to go for his MOFA which I did through another agent (I still have'nt got my password) and incurred the charges. This brother cannot access his passport which is with someone else. He cannot go and is also REFUSING to honour the payment incurred SubhaNallah. His excuse ? I did not tell him about the charge !!!

This ban apply to the original countries for last year and will not be extended to any of us in Europe, AlHamdo Lillah.
To sister Unique Muslimah, whilst you are not a "Dude" and outside the restricted countries, a restriction still apply to you as a woman for travelling to Saudi Arabia, UNLESS accompanied by a "Dude" who is either a brother, son, husband, father, uncle, nephew, son-in-law or father-in-law :

this is for the muslim ruler according to the classical ulema and not to the kaafir harbi ruler... allah (Swt) says in the quran never will he allow that the disbelievers have authority over the believers.... also the prophet (saW) said obey the ruler until u see open kufr or in another narration so long as he establishes the prayer.... therefore clearly showing the obedience is only to a muslim ruler...

To sister "anti Minger". No, your husband don't have to be 40. I said that the restriction is not being enforced for European countries.
Even if the restriction was in place, as it is in Pakistan etc, you can still travel for umra with your husband as a MEHRIM even if he is 18.
Brother Al Irhaab, jazakallah kahir for your quote from Hadith.
We can go on and on quoting from hadith to each other until the cows come home.

Brother Zias House.
The only agent, in Bradford, with the password is Crown Travel. I have already stated their good reputation.
I am happy you got your visa, Al Hamdo Lillah. However, you are an exception in terms of the speed.
The way the system works is that your info /data is loaded onto the SEJEL system. Once that is done a payment of SR650 is deducted from the contractor's account. Only then the system swings into motion. Precisely 48 hours after the payment a MOFA is generated and transmitted to the embassy here in London.
Embassy accepts passports only on Monday and Tuesday and returns them on Thursday and Friday.
In your case, Crown Travel's reps (Gulf Travel) organised your MOFA around 50 hours, at least, before your passport went into the embassy. So, you must have given them the details of your passport on Thursday last or before.
Have a heart fulfilling Umrah and make as many Tawaafs as you can find energy for followed by supplications for all concerned in the Ummah InshaAllah.

Brother Zias House.
The only agent, in Bradford, with the password is Crown Travel. I have already stated their good reputation.
I am happy you got your visa, Al Hamdo Lillah. However, you are an exception in terms of the speed.

Sallams
jazakallah, I belive that this was only achieved with the willingness of Allah Subhanatallah.Crown travel have started a good relationship with me.
however I would say to anyone going dont just go for the cheapest package.Conduct your own research using the resorces available nowadays.Look into the hotels being offered although some do have fancy names the actual hotel is far from living up to the name.Hotels like palace, jewel etc.ask around about the reputation of the operator. If you have had a bad experience report it,so in future other brother and sisters are aware of rogue operators.
My dear brother and sisters please pray that I have a safe and takleef free tour.Insha-Allah I hope to be able to give good feedback when I return.
