Do you feel low on energy in the mid-afternoon?
Nodding off at work? Struggling to be energetic and productive?
What do you do to get you through?

Personally I usually have a late lunch (@2:30pm) loaded with caffiene and chilli, but that just shifts things forward. A late tea, late nights and minimal sleep tends to make me a slow starter.

I do find that exercising at night helps me to get quality sleep, improves my general energy level, and helps regulate my sleeping pattern (as much as possible anyway!).

How does it go for you guys?

Really?
That's no good.

Not enough sleep, not enough exercise, dietary problem or something else do you think?

Yeah. Takes a real dedicated effort for most people to be active these days.
Worth it though.
I tend to get lethargic and depressed if I don't get enough exercise.

The problem with caffiene is that it doesn't last long and when it wears off you feel worse than before.

Supposedly smaller but more frequent meals does help. It's hard to manage that at work though.

Yeah.
I find if I have a big meat fest for lunch it's enough to make me nod off.
I usually eat Korean for lunch actually. Bi Bim Bab, kim chi and some miso soup is good.

i dont drink coffee, seen the affects, worried i'll end up getting addicted to it,

if it makes u feel worse, why do u bother drinking it?

just take some nibbles with you, dried fruit to munch on while you are at work, and when u go for a lunch break you dont tend to pig out or eat as much,

I like the taste of coffee, and especially enjoy it in the colder months.
In summer I don't drink it much.
If I have a hot chili meal and then strong black coffee is does perk me up for the rest of the afternoon, I just tend to collapse a bit when I get home.

Friday's are always full of energy for me, except when I get home from school, then the pain kicks in... :p lol.

But usually I'm awake. nearly all the time. English lessons are dragged, seriously dragged, I like English and all, the teacher just puts you to sleep though. That's on Monday mornings. :p

exercise definately increases your energy levels *talks from experience* I know since I've been doing regular exercise that afternoon sleepy slump I usually has become something of the past... Exercise early in the morning before you go to school/work etc and you'll stay energetic for the rest of the day Insh'Allah.

Isn't it a Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) to sleep after Zuhr ?

Yeah I feel like that too it's called fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue immune defience syndrome. So if my body is tired I listen to it and try to take a little cat nap when I can and on those energetic days which are few and in between. I do what I can inshallah without over exhausting myself.

i find sleeping late helps me wake up early... weird huh?

i usually feel very tired and weak at times too

i think its because i hardly drink water... like just a few sips a few days or none at all

but exercise help a lot so...
