a very interesting documentary...
its about a white amrican christian man who is assigned to live as a muslim for a month who initially has the typical preconceived ideas about islam being a violent religion.

i dont think they were qadiani or nething?? also quite a big dif between sufis and qadiyanis
anyway i do agree @ first the guy was not taught properly. bc then later the ppl explained him wat was being said during the salah, the translation of it. and he said thats all i was trying to find out from before, bc he wanted that info to feel comfy to take part or not... which is understandable. but i think the people did not do it on purpose like that, they must be not used to dealing with non muslims and so they dont understand what is necessary.
anyway it was an interesting docu

to be quite honest, i couldnt believe how brainwashed the people on the streets were... nearly all of them associated muslims with terrorists and vice versa... how did we allow that to happen? subhanallah

thats mainly because they actually never spoke with any muslims on a personal level like having a real conversation. maybe they jst served them in a customer as a shop or something in a very brief kinda capacity but they dont know or speak 2 muslims then of course they will associate us as a whole with the images they are given on the tv of "terrorist" "violent" "beheading" etc etc, so we hav a duty as a part of our dawa 2 interact with people a bit more so they can understand we are more normal not jst terroristic and also wat is the nature of muslim life, how we think and behave in reality not just wat they are shown on the tv. this is our fault in a way bc we have a tendancy sometimes just 2 talk 2 our own kind and not let the non muslims get to know us enough. of course its not one sided bc wen they treat us in this hostile way we may think "i dont want 2 talk 2 them bc they think of us in this way" bt its for our benefit 2 break that down and increase the amount of ppl in society who understand wat muslims are really like and feel we are normal citizens not something 2 feel scared of or stereotype us in that way

im glad they portrayed islam accurately, not many shws do that. and i agree that we need to engage with the wider society to dispell all these stereotypical views that the average person on the street has about islam.
Yea it's disturbing hearing their comments. But they could read some comments on this forum and that'd be proof to them...so maybe people should be more vocal about posts here first?

Yeah that video has been posted in here before. I liked it. I think the guy was honest in how he felt and has pretty much showed how most americans have misconceptions of muslims. Only one thing he didn't convert at the end. Thta mad me sad.

anyone ever read the book, "My life as a black man" It opened a lot of white eyes to what life was like in the states for black people. This documentary is in the same vein...insha allah it does some good without some idiot shouting taqiya taqiya
