Khalid Yasin came to our mosque once, and he was talking about the importance of nurturing the Soul. He said the very reason you stand, talk, boast, is because you have a soul inside of you that keeps you alive. The soul is what reminds us everything single day of the hereafter that we should not be heedless and listen to what its telling us. When someone committs zina, that feeling you get afterwards he said which makes you feel like you are nothing, is your soul telling you "you have taken the wrong path, woe to you. He said, when you are about to steal, that feeling you get thats reminding you of the guilt and how bad it is to steal is your soul. When you lie and afterwards feel so horrible its your soul telling you, why did you have to lie. When you keep missing your prayers and keep watching videos and playing video games, and after you feel so unfulfilled and worthless its your soul reminding you that prayer was more important.
Then he moved to the body, he said: Everyday you wake up brush your teeth, make sure you have your fav perfume sprayed on, got your best clothes, be on time to work. Everyday you run to the bathroom to take a shower make yourself smell nice, yet you make no effort to give your soul its nurture and care. You sin, giving the body what it wants, what it needs, I want a woman , let me get a woman, I want a man let me get a man, fulfill my desires in a haram way, you give your body a quick fix. I want a smoke, let me get a cig.
One day you'll die. What happens right after you die? You start to smell, the person who was committing haram with u, the one who knew you, the person you claimed to love, name it even your own mother, right after you die she'll arrange for your burial. No one wants to keep you around anymore all of a sudden, no matter how beloved you are, the least a family can keep you around is for hours if not a day. Because no one will tolerate your smell. The closest they'll come to you during your burial is infront of your dark dark grave, they'll make you prayers and leave you right there. Who's with you now? Your soul, the one and only who ever cared for you. The one who was with you through out your entire life and now it's right there with you.
All your life you were worshipping the body, the body wants this let me give it. The body wants me to sin, you'd sin. The body wants me to lie you'd lie. When infact it was your soul that you should've nurtured more and listened to. The body can never contain itself, the body only houses only the person. Most people live just feeding the body.
Thats why as soon as the soul departs from the body you will begin to smell and rot. When you woke up in the morning sleeping in, giving your body the sleep and enjoying your cosy bed, your soul was reminding you to get up and pray but you didn't listen.
There is the self, the me, the I, the my, the realisation of self. Self serving, always wanting to possess everything. The self is what overflows through grief, hate, envy etc...the self always fffulfilling itself.
The soul is the real purpose of the journey. The soul is always reminding us of the real purpose in life.
The soul is reminding us about death. While you are living the soul is always knocking at your door telling us that death is enevitable. The soul is the conscious which reminds and drives the passengers, the soul is always irritating us telling us about its origin, telling us where its going to wind up at. Always trying to tell us to distinguish between real and unreal. The soul is the super-natural self which is connected to the unseen elements, the unseen elements of birth, vision, and the unseen element of death. The soul is that which enters the body, and becomes the person.
I just summ'ed it up..There is ofcourse more missing, I hope u all found that beneficial,If I made any mistakes they're mine and If said anything good or beneficial its from Allah.
Asalamalaikum

Obtaining Steadfastness During Trials And Tribulations
[Notes From Talk By Abu Usaamah]
''See they not that they are put in trial once or twice every year (with different kinds of calamities, disease, famine) ? Yet, they turn not in repentance, nor do they learn a lesson (from it)''
{Surah Tawbah [9] ayah 126}
From this ayah in the Quran, we see that we will be tested with trials. But we have the ability to deal with whatever trial we are given. This is all part of understanding Qadr Allah. It wasn't going to miss you if it was meant for you and it wasn't going to come to you , if it wasn't meant for you !
we shouldn't say 'if' , because its Qadr Allah , it was meant to happen! Rather as Muslims, we should deal with what ever Allah tests us with. There is no calamity which happens in the earth and within ourselves that hasen't already been decreed.
[the sheikh speaks about SOME of the things that we need to deal with trials and tribulations]
1- TAWHEED
(The First pillar for dealing with trial and tribulations)
Verily to Allah belongs the religion of sincerity
We have to know that it is Allah who is One and who plans. In this we refer to thabaat, accepting that Allah has planned for a certain thing to happen whether good or ''bad''. Thabaat refers to remembering Allah, knowing that Allah has decreed this for you and having patience through it. So rather than saying comments such as ''why did Allah take my parents ? '' we say and remember at such a time ''To Allah we belong and to Allah we shall return''. Again in reference to the Ayah from Surah Tawbah, we should learn a lesson from the trials and tribulations we go through, rather than being like those who do not turn to Allah.
Another reason for Tawheed being number 1 is, When you have Tawheed, you are not afraid of people !
And '' The worst thing that can be inside of a man is that he is stingy and the second one is that he is cowardice ''
If we do not defend ourselves, people will take the haq away from us. And if a person is cowardice, He wont protect his deen, when It is our duty to protect Allah, and in this, it doesn't mean Allah is in need of us as He is Al Ghani (The Self Sufficient). Rather it refers to speaking up for the deen. Way of us showing our thanks to our lord , for the many blessings he gives us, one of the main ones being we have Al Islam !
2- AL ILTAZM
This refers to practising the deen and holding on to your religion.
If you help Allah, Allah will help you (again Allah is Al Ghani, so he does not need help from anything he created, but by practising and defending the religion is what this means by 'helping'). So we have to practise the deen. Is it fair to say and feel that we want to be successful, but did not go in the right way of being successful!? NO, Its like having a boat, thinking you are going to sail without no water ! It doesn't match up ! So we have to go on the right path, practise and then we will InshAllah be successful !
If one does not practise his religion, when he is in need of help from Allah, Allah will not help him,
''remember Allah and Allah will remember you''
We must remember Allah in good times and in bad times, instead of being like the one who forgets Allah until he forgets himself ! ... If only they had done the things they were commanded to do, then we'd be established.
Through worship, doing things for the sake of Allah, it will bring us closer to Him, and Allah remembers us if we remember Him, SubhanAllah, then surely He will respond to us if we call upon Him.
** (Hadith Qudsi)** - ''...He is the hearing with which he hears, the seeing with which he sees ...''
#
And Waajib is the best thing to get closer to Allah.
3- DUA
Dua is the weapon of the believer. Whoever doesn't make dua to Allah (subhana wa ta'ala), He gets angry. And we know that being in sajdah [prostration], is the position in which we are closest to Allah! The prophet (saw) used to make the dua in sajdah '' Oh Allah, The One who changes the hearts, establish my heart..''
We must remember Allah at all times, go through things for the sake of Allah, knowing that it has already been planned what will happen to us, if we are meant to die or not. If Allah sent the angel of death and Allah said it is your time to die , no matter what you do , whether you hide far out in your house , know that your destined place for death will then be there !
We have examples, such as Khalib ibn Waleed. He was given the name ''saifullah''. He was a serious man, a warrior, although he was 'strong' in his jahilliya, he was a strong warrior in islam. ''The best of you in jahilliya is the best of you in Islam, with knowledge of the deen''.
He fought 55 times in his years of being a muslim (15 years) for the sake of Allah. And khalid ibn waleed said there wasn't a part on his body that he put his hand without there being a mark or scar etc from fighting, subhanallah for the sake of allah. This in itself is a lesson for all of us, that if Allah decides we live then we will and also subhanallah how many trials did he go through fighting 55 times , not once or twice a year (but more), and here we are with people worrying, wanting to commit suicide because they have a pimple on their face or something. We need not to make such dramatic trivial statements. And rather focus on Knowing Allah is always here, Al hayyul Qayyum (The Ever Living, The One who Sustains). Worshipping Him, asking of Him (dua), through good times and bad times! And knowing that Allah does not burden a soul with more than it can bear. And we definately have the ability to deal with it [whatever 'it' may be] as Allah has said. We believe in Him and trust Him ! He is our Lord, Allahu Akbar (Allah is Great).
4- Reading Quran
Reading the Quran will give us thabaat, as we will be connected with the book of Allah.
Reading certain surah at certain times , for example reading surah kahf on fridays , brings about benefits [the next friday something will shine for him] and others ...
We will not be forsaken if we turn to Allah. We get much reward for reading the Quran and it will be of benefit for us to understand it, being reminded etc. There are the reminders of those before us who were destroyed. In the Quran it speaks of Allahs mercy, rewards and punishments. Its so much more than just a book. It is a revelation from Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala). Having the Quran itself is a mercy from Allah.
When prophet Muhammed (saw) haden't received a revelation for a year (some say 8 months) the people would tell the prophet that he had been forsaken by his Lord. Through this time the prophet was sad, but he and the sahabah were thaabiteen, they knew that Allah exists and this is Allah's plan. Through their way of dealing with it, Allah had revealled surah duha , and in the third ayah of this surah, it says ''your Lord (O Muhammed) has neither forsaken you nor hates you'' . They trusted in Allah and had patience through it and kept their duties to their lord etc and in the surah Allah mentions Muhammed (Saw), and again reminds and reassures, '' And indeed, the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world), And verily, your Lord will give you (all good) so that you shall be well pleased ''
-Also with Maryam (as), Allah didn't forsake her when she had to build courage to tell people about the miracle of her baby, she had Tawheed. Her belief in Allah was much stronger !
-Also Asiya, She was the wife of firoun, and Allah did not forsake her!
''Do you think you will enter jannah without being trialed'' Surah Baqarah
Q&A (well one question )
qadr and sin ? is it qadr allah when we sin also ?
* ''emaan consists of believing in Allah, the angels, the books, prophets and messengers, the last day, and the good AND BAD decree of Allah ''
[I]* Everything has already been registered. Allah wrote down the Qadr of everything 50,000 years before creation.
* When Allah created Adam (as), there were two groups of people of creation , and Allah said this group of people are going to jannah and that group will go to jahanam.

** (Hadith Qudsi)** - ''...He is the hearing with which he hears, the seeing with which he sees ...''
"On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) (may Allah be pleased with him) who said that the Messenger of Allah :saw: said:
Allah - may His Majesty be exalted ! - said:
"Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him."
"My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him."
"When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks."
"Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him."
(It was related by al-Bukhari.)

Lol, talk was good as usual. Took notes.....
Promotion of virtue, prevention of vice
When something is prhibited there is always a solution (i.e. free mixing is prohibited, and marriage is the solution)
Marriage prevents evil, safeguards against haraam. It becomes wajib upon you to get married of there is a danger of you sinning.
Prophet Muhammad :saw: said "Those of you who are able to get married should do so"... if you cant then fast.. (but not many of da youth fasts do they?!) fastening weakens desires from shaytaan.
When you reach the age of puberty, you are treated as an adult ... so there is no age restriction to marriage like the west says you have to be 16.
Marriage has a special status, marriage with the right intention is an act of ibaadaa/worship. You complete half your faith, because you safeguard your chastity, the other half is safeguarding your tongue. Do this and u enter Janaah :insha:
To get married you need consent of wali (father or brother) this is essential, a wali takes care of the women, and finds out the character of the man.
There is an offer if marriage and acceptance.
Dowry/mahr - best is simple
Accommodation - Not everyone is rich enough to find own accommodation, you can live with the husbands family if they accept, man should have a job to support her, not get pocket money of his dad :rotfl: :rotfl:
Living with In laws - Many problems come from that, if they do and the wife is being bullied, the brother needs to stand up for his wife and not be a mouse and not tolerate bad things (from both sides of course)
Once the roses have gone there are bills to pay and dishes to wash
People who wanna get married:
Friends, Family, married contacts
1st source of help is Allaah, people who are looking to get married are among the 3 people Allaah will help.
What to look for in a person:
- Good pratice of Islam and good character = the most important to ensure rights are given
- Looks (Abu T said brothers find this more important, and it is unrealistic, take a look in the mirror at yourself.. are you asking for too much?... the hoor al ayn aren't in this world, so get over it :p and dont have unrealistic expectations) No human is perfect
- Compatibility - Similar background/education
- Family - will the people fit in with each others families?

amm maa u were late!! i saw u lol:D
mashAllah it was a good talk inshAllah we actually take the advice from it and IMPLEMENT it in our lives!
The Gems for ibn Suleman and others:
MAIN message -
Keep marriage SIMPLE and not to complicate it, as the simpler it is the more barakah there is inshAllah
Small Mahrs not ones that keep the bro in debt forever or make him run a mile
Being responsible and not thinking it's going to be roses all the time
REspecting each other and giving each other their rights
and working hard to keep it strong and to keep nuturing it not think 'oh i got what i want' and khalas
and most importantly to do it in a halal way through halal means through the correct Niyaa (inention) to ensure Allah (swt) blessings upon the both of you
oh yeah and to pick a righteous spouse and not someone who is just pleasing to the eyes and doesn't satisfy the heart or mind
